Now did that title catch your attention?
"OK, when I said I wanted a princess canopy for my bed, this isn't quite what I had in mind."
(Ceiling repair underway)
"What is the Momster talking about now? She says I have a collie-flower in my ear - I wouldn't recognize a collie-flower if it walked by me. I always thought a collie was a dog named Lassie. What's up with this one?"
Now the Momster's turn. Yes, he does indeed have a cauliflower in his ear. The photo is a bit blurry, but it looks like a big ugly wart to me.
It is new, because Thunder gets his ears washed and checked regularly since he tends to build up wax. I know that these warts are usually benign and harmless, but we will be off to the vet this week to have it checked just to be sure. It will definitely have to be removed because it is big enough that it pretty much blocks the opening to his ear canal. Paws crossed it is nothing to worry about.
Now back to your regular Sunday program.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Pee Ess - we finally put away the Christmas stars and opened the last of the presents in our header. Thanks to Ann of Zoolatry for our very beautiful new header.
Aiiiiiiiieeeeee Collies are hoooge. How did you ever fit Miss Flower the Collie into your ear?? Well, I think the VET will think you shouldn't be putting stuffs like that.. or even Beans in your ears!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure it'll be OK though.
Now about the new header... YES!! That's what I'm talkin about... It looks like Spring and Summer!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
Love the new header! As for the collie flower -- how strange that something our folks normally like to eat should have such a different manifestation. Fighters get cauliflower ears somethimes. We didnt know that doggies get them too.
ReplyDeleteHope it's something easily removed!!!
Wirey love,
Jake and Just Harry
Yes, nice header!!
ReplyDeleteHope your ear checks out fine. I'm sure it will. I'll cross my paws and claws for you.
Let us know soon, won't you. xx
It's always something. I took a big wad of hair out of Noah's ear last night. He has tine little ear canals and lots of hair growing in them. I try to keep up with ear cleaning, but this mess got past me.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the vet. That doesn't sound like a serious thing, just a major inconvenience.
We too will cross our paws that your ear is all better soon.
ReplyDeleteWags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo
All paws crossed that it is indeed nothing but a harmless wart.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen one and never knew exactly what a cauliflower ear was...glad it's nothing scary.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to my most favorite three fluffballs :-)
Your pal, Gizzy and his mommy
Hope your ear gets better....ouchie!

ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Love your new header photo!
ReplyDeleteOnly the best princess canopy for you Ciara.
Ouchies...hope the ear is okay and heals up soon. My cousin had that once from wrestling it looked awful and he said it was very painful. :(
Did you get a seed in your ear? Sometimes we get grass seeds but so far they haven't grown into a flower. Sorry about the vet visit, but hope everything turns out A-OK!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Nice new header! Ciara, we do love your new canopy...even if it is plastic instead of fabric! We hope the wart doesn't cause too much of a problem for you, Thunder.
ReplyDeleteElyse and Riley

We hopes that trip to the vet turns out ok! We thinks that collie is kind of in the way! We find that canopy interesting!
ReplyDeleteHey! We like your header too!
ReplyDeleteOn nose - don't you hate ouchies? I think that is canine papiloma or something like that. I'm pretty sure they are contagious but go away on their own. Momma saw them when she was researching for my histocytoma. Going to the vet never hurts though. Hope that's all it is.
ReplyDeletewoof - Tucker
Bummer! I've never liked caulifolower in the first place, let alone when it grows in your ear!! Hope it's outta there soon!
ReplyDeleteSnorts-
Brutus & Carmen

Nope, that duss not look like Lassie to me. Sorry to woof this, Thunder, but I is going to has to agree that you needs to go to the V-E-T to has it looked at. And I will deny I efur woofed that.
ReplyDeleteYup, we are on the side of those who think Thunder should see the V.E.T.
ReplyDeleteThat way he AND his mom will feel better.
gussie
For a moment there i though there'd be food..!
ReplyDeleteHope all turns out well with your ears Thunder!
Paws crossing for you!
P.s - Hi to Ciara and Phantom
Cheers,
Maxx
Your new header is beautiful! We love it!! I wish I was able to do things like that but it just doesn't work for me at all! Ciara, you gorgeous princess, you look so pretty there on the carpet! We will pray that the collie flower in Thunder's ear is nothing bad and can be removed quickly. It looks like we are all running to the vet too much but it's sure necessary. Prayers and paws crossed for you. Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new header photo! And I'm liking the spring-likeness of it with all the freezing temps we've been having (tonight is predicted to be minus eight below. Brrrr.) Paws cross that Thunder's cauliflower ear will be A-OK. I'll be looking for the updates. Husky hugs times 5 coming his way!
ReplyDeletePS - I've been keeping my eye out for a white Sibe per your request. MaPaw (there is a link on my blog page) has a few beautiful white Sibes up for adoption. I didn't know if you were still looking and if you were interested in a pup or an adult, but I thought I'd pass it along.
I KNEW IT! I knew collie-flowers were evil! Now they've invaded your ear too; oh poor Thunder! I'm keeping my paws crossed that it is nothing to worry about.
ReplyDeleteCiara looks most royal under the canopy too, hehe.
Oh, and I LOVE the new header. :)
Woofs,
Pepsi
I LUVS da new header too! Puppy prayers is on da way to Thunder fur his ear.
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
Yikes! Cauliflower in the ear does not sound good at all! We have our paws crossed that it's nothing.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like having a canopy for my bed!
Bunny
Well... certainly it was not the kind of canopy you had in mind... but looks fine!
ReplyDeleteThunder! Take your chance before the Vet takes care of that collie-flower in your ear. Now you can say to Momster... "Sorry, I did not hear you"!
I am sure everything is going to be ok!
Take care
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
My paws are crossed that it is nothing serious. Over the past year, I have developed several warts (about 8 of them). My mom is a little freaked out by them, but the vet says it is nothing to worry about, just part of growing older.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
What a beaWOOtiful and pawesome header!
ReplyDeleteOf khourse, the title so khaught our attention!
Paws khrossed the veggies in TD's ear are just bean-ein!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
Poor TD.... I hope that it turns out to be no big deal. You're so on top of things that I'm sure that it hasn't been there long which has to be good news.
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, your title did catch my eye! I like Ciara's canopy :)
Love the new header, it looks like summertime!
ReplyDeleteI just can;t imagine how some collie;s flower got in your ear! I'm sure it's nothing and hope you don;t have to put up with mcuh prodding and poking.
Header looks great - looking forward to spring!
ReplyDeleteCauliflower growths, which is what it looks like, look icky and grow fast, but otherwise just inconvenient. Poor boy - but he is ever so striking with his red heart tag!
It's bewildering that as the number of dogs in a group goes up, the likelihood of vet visits seems to go up exponentially **sigh**
Oh Dear!
ReplyDeleteI never liked vegetables and now I know why!
I do hope it is not going to cause you too much trouble.
Your pal,
Digby
We'll be thinking of you with your vet's visit and hope that everything turns out well.
ReplyDeleteI agree...that headers is beautiful and the canopy is delightful.

YIKES...my pack member, Holly the Jack Russell, had one of dose once. Hers was bad though and da vet had to actually CLOSE up hers ear and move her eardrum to da lower side of hers head. She looks funny wit her ear all sewed up. She had a couple of da odder ear too but does got better wit just da medicine.
ReplyDeleteHope you's feels better real soon.
Love,
Amber
Oh, yes, our hu-dad is a total nut about taking us to the vet for every little bump and knot. It's ok, because we really like our vet.

ReplyDeleteI'm very much sorry abouts the Collie-flower in your ear. You know, I lives in Collie-rado but I've never heard of a Collie-flower. I wonder if it's gonna bloom before your mom has it taken off?
Wiggles & Wags,
mayzie
Rut Roh, vet time. Better take care of the colli-flower thing. All I have to say is that you deserve a MOUNTAIN of treats after, and lots of special momma-tention.
ReplyDeleteKitty and Coco

Poor Thundr! Does it hurt? Are you rubbing your ear? We know ALL about ear ouchies at our house right now. Sending White Dog healing energy and positive thoughts that it is a mere annoyance not a medical issue.

I wandered over to your blog from Romping and Rolling in the Rockies. I'm glad I did. Your dogs are very beautiful. Your grandkids are as cute as can be. I'll be visiting often, I think.

Goog luck with your new collie-flower. It must has taken you a lot of work to grow it but I bet they will get it chopped off. Auntie Penny has some of these. She had some chopped off too, but the vet does not want to do it any more since she getting older and got the heart problem, but he says they is all benign.
ReplyDelete~lickies, Ludo
We really like the New Header - take care!
