Saturday Update to this Post: We are so very sorry - we just learned that Luke has made his way across the Rainbow Bridge. Our deepest sympathy to his sweet Mom and the Bleu. You can read more here.
Phantom here today to share a bit of news about some furiends.
Let's start with something very serious and important. Many of you know the GoldenBoy Luke and his fight against the evil cancer. We have all been worried about him and wondering how he and his Mom and his brother Bleu were all doing. Sadly the news has not been good for Luke. Today we all have an opportunity to surround Luke and his family with the Power of the Paw. Please pay a visit to the Loving for a Living blog, with Scout, Freyja, and Mimi where you will find more information. Luke and his Mom need our love and support; please do what you can, even if it is just a kind word in a comment on his blog. Thank you, Mimi and pups, for making this possible.
What's that, Mom? More news? Oh yes, I forgot. A couple of PSAs about some furiends with new blogs.
We were thrilled to learn that Amber DaWeenie and her brother Max have finally convinced their mom to let them have their own blog. They posted for the first time today. Please pay them a visit here at Da Weenies of Florida and give them a great big welcome to the wonderful land of blogging.
Thinking, thinking, thinking - there is something else to tell.
Oh yes, please don't forget about the new rotties on the block, Ruby, Bart, and Gizmo, and their angel sister Allie at their new blog Rottrover.
OK, is that everything? Oh, THAT - well, OK. I had to go to the V-E-T today for what they tell me is my annual checkup.
Overall, I had a decent report. I had to get four pokes, three for shots and one for them to steal some of my blood. I was very good and managed to score lots of tummy rubs and ear scritchies. My weight is - well, let's just say it is down a little from the summer, but they said I am still very handsome. The nice lady vet told the Momster to just keep giving me whatever she can to get me to eat. Mom keeps mixing it up and trying. Some days she scores, other days it's just a bust. The last part of the visit was that whole body massage. It feels really good to me, but the Momster is a little concerned because they found four new lumpy lumps. They are all small but will be watched. If they change at all, it will mean more needle pokes. I am beginning to feel like a pin cushion.
OK, I think I am done now. Snooze time.
Woos ~ Phantom
what an excellent job you have done of organizing and disseminating your information.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the updates
gussie
Phantom, have you tried Karo Syrup? Sometimes if you mix it with your food, it tastes a lot better and does not upset the stomach.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information on Luke. I'll be sending him a card!
Has you tried squirrel? I has some very tasty recipes if you wants to borrow them. Not liking da lumpy things, hopefully it's just nuttin.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy da Weenies got'em a blog and Rottrover! Dis gonna be fun!
We went and got a card fur Luke...now if I can just find dat stamp.
Puddles
Phantom we will run over and visit all the newbies. We are putting all our paws to work for Luke.
ReplyDeleteHopefully those lumps will not amount to anything anytime soon. Mom keep up the good work in getting Phantom to eat..
Big Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
Thanks for all the PSAs! Glad to hear you got mostly a good report at the V-E-T today. Hope those four lumps end up being nothing. Chloe has a bunch of fatty tumors all over her that are benign. I hope that's what yours are too!
ReplyDeleteElyse (and Riley)
Phantom you are a handsome dog. Thanks for all the announcements. Wishing you the best. Hope those lumps are not worrisome, your parents must be worried about you. Give them hugs and licks:)
ReplyDeleteYou have earned snooze time Phantom.... my paws are yours when ever you need them.

Phantom, I think you are the most handsome news updater of all time! Those blue eyes just melt me!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got through your Vet appointment, ok. Sorry about all the stickies. I'm glad they tried to make it better with scritches and scratches.
I don't like those lumps one single bit! You've already had more than your share!
We'll put a card in the mail for Luke tomorrow and now we're going to head over and check out your furends.
Hold your tail high!
Stumpy and her bean
That was a lot of news for one doggy. Thanks for the update on Luke. It's a very sad situation. We hope you are okay!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! You keep up all up to date! I am sorry you got poked so much....take care, my friend....
ReplyDeleteHey Phantom,
ReplyDeleteYes I agree with them that you are a handsome boy!
Love,
Homer
Phantom, you have been a busy boy and a very good looking boy! First, we are very sad about the latest news concerning the Luke and we sent off a card today. Mom kept getting all teary eyed since last night when she heard the news. We are glad you made it through the v-e-t. and hope those lumps show up to be nothing. It's not fun to be a pin cushion. Keep eating you handsome boy! lots of love, Holly and mom
ReplyDeleteHey, Phantom, have you ever had your mom make you satin balls? Greyhound people swear by them to help fatten up hounds who have been sick or not been eating. We had them here when Hawk was sick, and oh my dog, I admit, I couldn't control myself! We were all stealing them from each other. If you need the recipe, ask and I'll have Mom give it to you.
ReplyDeleteWe got a card for The Luke this afternoon and need to get it in the mail.
Woo hoo! It's always cool when more pups join blogland!
Bunny
I will try and get Misery to visit those new friends.
ReplyDeleteHmm, vets and pokes and jabs and things eh? Tell me about it. Paws crossed those lumps behave themselves.
I think you deserve that nap. I think I will have one too.

We always keep our paws crossed for you.
We have visited Scout and Freya Loving for A Living,, and are geared up to accomplish the mission for Luke

You look healthy, happy and loved!!!

WE were wondering how your vet visit went. We are glad that everything was OK over all. Love & Healing purrs.
ReplyDeleteWe hope your lumps all turn out to be nothing, Phantom! Snickers has a bunch of lumps on him too - it seems that since he turned 8 last year they started popping up every few weeks. He gets to visit the vet a lot too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to the new blogs too! I'm a newbie too (although I followed you pups for a little while) and its good to meet more!
Myndi, Snickers, and Ava
Oh Phantom I am very much sorry that you have the lumps. I will send some VIBES>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Mollie Jo & Bobo
Hi Kathy and pups,
ReplyDeleteI have blogged about my soup making over a year now so I guess it is time to do that again. I will sometime soon.
So sorry to hear about the lumps!
We sure know about those!!
XX Bambi & Fern
Thanks for all the updates. I will visit Luke next and send my very best wishes.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
P.S: The vet is right. You are the most handsome puppy around!
Just the kind of thoughtful reporting your fans have come to expect, Phantom. [Bet if you had a human voice, you'd sound like Ted Williams - not the famous baseball guy, the recently redeemed homeless guy with the wonderful bass-baritone voice. Or Barry White.] We hope the lumps are very slow growing benign fatty tissue. We appreciate the PSA's. We sure rely on the Voices of Dogblog World, of which you are a major one, to keep us informed! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYour grandtwins are VERY cute!
Jed & Abby
So sorry to hear about finding the lumps. And thank you for the update on Luke, we will check over there. I think you did an excellent job Phantom and you deserve your nap!
ReplyDeleteBut of course you're very handsome! You don't need a vet to tell you that!
ReplyDeleteSonic
Mr. Phantom, you just show me where those little lumpy lumps are and I will bark at them and order them to run very, very, very, far away!
ReplyDeleteBig slurps, HoneyBuzz
You are so handsome, Phantom.
ReplyDeleteWe are purraying for you.
Love to all at your house.
You are such a good rePURRter! It was just like sniffing the local pee-mail☺ Thanks fur the shout-out 'bout the Luke and the mom. We heard through the pee-mail vine that the mom is furry sads when she reads the bloggies so our momma got the idea of cards 'cause there's nuttin' better than getting good stuff in the mail! Not wanting to publish they're address for all in cyberspace to see, she thought that the GRRH of Houston where the Luke's Aunt Karen volunteers would be an excellent drop out point and they said YES, isn't that nice?
ReplyDeleteHope those little lumps turn into nothing more than passing bumps that lead to nowhere...
I'm heading over now...I'm glad your vet visit went well! I hate to think of your new nickname..pincushion..YUCK>

When I read that Phantom visited a
ReplyDeleteV E T, i become as anxious as him.
I like him so much, i do not want to read bad news :(
Our Mom says she's starting to dread our checkups because we're all getting to an age where lumps and bumps show up.
ReplyDeleteWe'll go visit the new blogs and meet some new friends.
The weather dude says we're getting some snow tonite. Let's hope he's right for a change.
Morgan, Tsar and the Porties
Hey Phantom!
ReplyDeleteWow, lots of healing thoughts coming from me to all those in need. Thanks for remembering them and for welcoming some new friends. Yeah, vets are the worst. Darn vampires anyway! Definitely time for a nap.
Grr and Woof,
Sarge, COP
Awww Phantom - good job on giving us all the 411 on important subjects - we'll go say hi to the new bloggers! And we are about to send our card off to dear Luke - we are a bit late, but about to leave the house to mail it. Sorries about more lumps - but it's good that the VET found them now, yes? And that Karo Syrup comment sounds very good to us - did you try it and... did it work?
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs xoxoxo

Visited Amber DaWeenie and left her a comment just a moment ago.
Been to the rotties blog a few days ago and I don't know Luke but will go say hello to him and his mom too.
What an informative post!! I will say prayers that those lumpies are just fatty lumps that we sometimes get. Keep eating what you can, Phantom!
ReplyDeleteWags,
Zona

Our paws are crossed for your friend and his family.
ReplyDeleteGlad that everything checked out okay for you.
Phantom, we are very sorry to hear about Luke, but always happy to learn abut new friends. You're a pretty good newscaster.
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, when I went to the vet a few weeks ago, I had to give up some blood and get three shots too! Also the vet said I need to gain 3-4 pounds. So I guess that's just what happens to handsome guys like you and me.
Steve
Oh buddy, Luke is at peace now, he can bark al he wants, chase cats and squirrels at lightning speed, eat steak and bacon right off his own table, while he sits on his very own couch! You are a good friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy I found your blog, I can't wait to get acquainted.
High Paw buds, high paw.
We were just so sad to hear this news and ache for Amanda - we send out prayers and love to her and the Bleu.
ReplyDeletexoxoxo
Sammie, Avalon and Mom
We are very sorry about your friend, Phantom... that is so sad.
ReplyDeleteWe hope your lumpies stay small so you don't need any more of those pokes.
Keep eating what you can.
ps - we agree with the vet, you are very handsome. :)
That is such sad news about Luke. Our thoughts go out to his Hu-family. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeletePhantom - you are so handsome! We are glad your vet appointment went well...and just keep on eating, okay? You deserve that nice nap - visiting the vet is exhausting!
Lots of Husky hugs coming your way!
Owwwie! Thats alot of pokes, I am very brave with pokes but brother Rosoce screams liek a girl! Our paws are crossed that the lumpy bumpys stay small or go away..
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts are with Luke's family.
ReplyDeleteHe was a real warrior.
I hope your lumps will not grow!
Take your chance and eat what you want, Phantom!
I hope you all are having a nice and relaxing weekend.
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Hiya Woos,
ReplyDeleteCharlie and I would like to thank you guys very much for stopping by and being here for us during this rough time.
We heard about Luke and will go visit his mommy, as we can't even imagine how hard it must be to lose someone so close.
We are sorry to hear this news about Golden Boy Luke. We hopes your bumps go away. We hopes that you eat. OK?
ReplyDeleteOP pack
ReplyDeletePhantom- most excellent job sharing news with us. Poor luke our hearts are heavy and definitely will leave a comment. But glad to hear new dwbers. THey look super fun. And P glad for the most part all checked out well at the vet. Paws crossed the lumps are just fatty lump bumps.
norwood
Nothing like being at the bottom of the barrel! Thanks for all your news, dear Phantom, and we are most happy you got a good checkup. We had a dog that had lots of those lumpies on her body but nothing ever came of them, so we wish that for you too.
ReplyDeleteYou should come visit us if you want snow, we have 87 tons of it on every street corner and every yard is full of it too. Its 87 below zero most of the time too so who wants to go out and play in that? Not me.
Get your Mom to make you some whole wheat pancakes to go with that Karo syrup, that should pack on some pounds. Is it kind of fun being Mr. Picky? Like someone is always dreaming up something new and yummylicious for you to eat. Thats a good racket and I might try that except I'd have to go hungry a few days and I'm not too good at that!
We're gonna go visit those new guys!
Kisses and hugs,
Stella
We were very sorry to hear about your friend Luke, our thoughts are with his family.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad that P is eating a little better and has found some things he likes. :)
WHAT? 4 lumps? i do not like hearing that...
ReplyDeletei'm liking the suggestion of pancakes and syrup tho... how about a fluffinutter sandwich? i mean don't your silly parents know how to feed a sibe YET? geesh...
;)
btw: this comment window covers up a little of your face and body in that last photo and it looks so much like Juno's back end... but less "junk in the trunk" than juno! (tee hee)....
try to eat some delicious things p...it's good for the jodhpurs!
I hope that all the tests come back good, Phantom. Your mom keeps really close tabs on you so I have no doubt that everyone is taking tip-top care of you. Please try to eat for the momster - she tries so hard to get calories into you. Pleeeeeease?
ReplyDeleteWe love you Phantom and love seeing your handsomeness on your blog!
Phantom, you're such a good boy! Good news for you about the "let him eat what he wants" ;) Many doggies are turning green with envy on that front. As far as the lumps, hopefully just fatty lipomas - I will keep fingers and paws crossed here. As KB said, though, you are such a good dogmom, that eagle eyes will be watching.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about Luke - I will visit his blog today. Also, thanks for introducing new blogs here - it's always fun to find new friends!
