A great time of the year to be thankful! And we have lots of reason for thanksgiving.
Look at all the cards we have received from our blog friends in the mail.
And this doesn't include all the beautiful e-cards and Smilebox cards we have received as well. You are all TERRIFIC!!!
Here is a closer look.
I have more reason to be thankful. Today Mom took me to the vet. Well, I am not really thankful for THAT. But it was time for my annual exam. I saw one of my favorite vets, and he gave me some very gentle tummy rubs and ear scritchies. I even got a couple of treats. Now he did steal some of my blood and he poked me a few times with those pointy needles. But it really wasn't too bad. All in all, Mom said it was a pretty good report. I have lost a couple of pounds, but it's OK because I had put on some in the fall. I am still a tiny bit higher than I was in the summer. My teeth are good. My heart ticker and my lungs are sounding pretty good for a 13 year old. I do have a lot of lumpy bumps all over me. Some are still concerning, but most of my newer ones were just cysts that the vet was able to aspirate and drain. I also got some Deramaxx to try to see if it will help my back legs. They like to give out on me and that doesn't feel so good. The only advice my vet pal had for me was to eat, eat, eat.
Mom had to write a very big check to pay for all of it, but she said she was happy with how things went. I am just hoping that's it until next year:)
Woos, Phantom
That's definitely enough torture for one year, Phantom! I'm glad you got a good report. You must have studied hard to get such excellent results.

ReplyDeleteMy vet should have a good Christmas. We've handed over enough green paper to him in the last two weeks.
ReplyDeleteI can't get Tsar to eat. He hasn't eaten since Sunday and I've tried everything I can think of. Any off the wall suggestions that you've learned from Phantom?
How neat to get all those cards from friends. And we're glad you got a good report from the vet. That will make your mom's Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThe look on Phantom's face is priceless. "Hey, no goodies for me!"

Hi Phantom, we are so glad you are ok. Your Vet sounds nice except for stealing your blood. That's ok though cause you got good scritches. Take care beautiful. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Yay! Good news! Duncan has a lot of "doggy cellulite" too. Has your mom ever tried Ester C for your arthor-itis? It helps Duncan tons!!
ReplyDeleteLook at all the cards. I love Christmas cards--a personal note is so cheering.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Phantom got a good report and we're hoping the the new meds will help his hips and legs.
Hoorah for the good report!
ReplyDeleteWe love Christmas cards too. Ours all live in a big red basket.
Wow, that's a lot of cards! I haven't been to the mailbox in several days so hopefully I have a few waiting for me there.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your checkup went so well, Phantom. The vet always seems to want a big check when I take my boys there too. When my cat was sick and going to the vet a lot, my friend said the the kitteh was on the Mercedes plan. As in, the vet must've wanted a new Mercedes so he kept telling me to bring kitteh back so he could charge me lots of green papers for the new car.
That's great news for you and for all of us, Thunder. Now, please eat for all of us!
ReplyDelete*waves* Hello new friend! I am Rumpy the Malamute and I am happy to meet you guys. I am happy to hear you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteDude
ReplyDeleteI always think of you and each year so glad you are doing well. Umm about the eating... I can show you how it works... hee hee
