Mowers or maybe Moo-ers?
Mom finally took down a good part of the fence blocking this area of new grass. It is Phantom's favorite pee-spot, so it has been in jail for a couple of months until it grew tall and strong.
Lightning isn't so sure he likes the taste, but Ciara loves it.
Thunder decided to join us and we had a little meeting. Hey Momster, would you like us to mow down this grass for you? We might be cheaper than those guys you hire to do it every week.
Those treats in your hand would be a nice starting wage, but we might need a bonus.
Do you see Phantom in the background? He doesn't like the grass, but he is also trying to tell us that we are not out of the woods yet with this nasty weather.
Thanks to all who sent us good wishes and emails asking if we were OK. Somehow we managed to dodge the worst of last night's storms. We have no idea how that happened because there was a line of very, very nasty stuff headed straight at the Kansas City area. Just east of the state line into Missouri, there was a lot of wind damage and power outages, but all we got were some noisy storms and heavy rain. It kept coming back off and on all night. And now today is another day of waiting and hoping it misses us again. There are already some severe storms just south of us - early in the day for such bad ones.
Meanwhile . . . . .
This silly boy, who is afraid of the weirdest things like garage sale signs on the lawns, shopping bags, suitcases, trash barrels, has no fear at all of the storms. There is quite a bit of thunder in the area right now and he is camped outside watching and waiting (and yes he IS inside the no-sibe zone).
And what is he watching and waiting for?
I KNOW I saw a puppy next door yesterday and I am hoping he comes out to play with me soon.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
sounds just like Denny (whole is also partial to sampling every plant we walk by) and is frightened of silly things like signs and garbage cans - but also has no fear at all of storms.
ReplyDeleteOur thing is balloons...hate them. We have our paws crossed for you that the storm passes quickly. Stay safe. Have a marvellous Monday.
ReplyDeletebest wishes Molly
Hi there, We've been having afternoon clouds and rain & thunder. Today it was a bit overcast but sun is finally peaking out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.

Very pleased you are all okay and prepared to work for your upkeep, BOL.
ReplyDeleteIf you make a good job of your grass, you can do ours next, we can negotiate with treats.

We're glad you avoided the storms. Our Daddy should check with his sisters to make sure they are alright.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words about Auntie El's passing. We're sorry it's taken so long to reply but Mom is having a hard time. It's comforting to have the support of the Cat Blogosphere at this sad time.

Whew, glad you guys are ok. Yep we gots another round coming this afternoon. Dads watching the radar and said he will be home before any storm gets to us.
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Freedom, Casper & Nikki are also grass-eaters. Sometimes when I look out in the backyard, I'd swear I have 3 sheep instead of 3 dogs. Freedom & Casper are afraid of thunder. Freedom suffers in silence in the bathroom; Casper makes everyone miserable by pacing, panting and barking. Nikki sleeps.
ReplyDeleteWe will still be praying then for your safety. Maybe that puppy will come out and play sometime or at least come to the fence and sniff!
ReplyDeleteWe were watching the storms last night and sure hope no big ones come your way today either. Lightning, we think the neighbor puppy would love to play with you!
ReplyDeleteSage has her silly things to be afraid of too and, like Lightning, thunder isn't one of them either! I'm glad the storms missed you and sure hoping this next batch does too. We were thinking about you (and still are)! Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteWe're glad that you're all okay!
ReplyDeleteIf you need help ripping out the grass, my paws is raised! I'll help!
Love ya lots♥

ReplyDeleteSo glad you made it safely through the storms!
ReplyDeleteRiley likes to eat grass like a goat! When Chloe eats it, she throws up...but Riley will gulp down mouthful after mouthful and doesn't throw up. Guess she thinks she needs more vegetation in her diet or something. :)

ReplyDeleteOMG! I hope you are all safe! I can't watch much on tv...it tears me up but I did see an older woman digging in the rubble of her home and ...out popped her Scottie! She just cried and said, "I prayed for two things. One was my life and the other was his. Both prayers have been answered!" Breaks my heart! So many people hurting!
