What to do with the Momster - she never seems to get her days straight! But we will forgive her this time because we got something really tasty.
Mom saw this recipe for grain free blueberry/peanut butter/banana treats on the blog My Rotten Dogs posted by Rebekah. You can find the recipe HERE. Thanks for sharing it, Rebekah.
When Mom put together the ingredients, she thinks she may have used too many bananas because she couldn't get the "dough" to be firm enough to roll it out so she could cut cookies. So rather than waste the dough, she decided to try making them as bars. She put the mix in a baking pan as seen below.
She baked it at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes and then thought it needed to bake a little longer.
So she turned it out of the baking pan onto a cookie sheet updside down and baked it for another 10 minutes. Then she let the pan cool before cutting the treats.
Here you can see she cut the mix into bite-size pieces (way tooooooo small in our opinion). That baggy in the top left corner is a batch for our little bipeds' dog Gypsy.
So are you wondering how they tasted? Mom says it is almost impossible to get pics of us each getting a treat when there is no one around to help with the flashy beast. But we think you will get the idea.
Ciara sniffs first and takes her piece very gently.
You might have to watch your fingers with a very eager Lightning so Mom offers him one off the palm of her hand. Don't miss all of our snooters in this pic.
Phantom couldn't sit still long enough for Mom to get his mouth in the shot:)
And Thunder, ever the gentleman, very nicely licked his treat off Mom's hand too.
AND the verdict - we all have to agree they were excellent.
Can we please have some more?
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
