So it has been pretty quiet around here since Wednesday. My playpal Ciara hasn't had too much life to her.
Ruby, I was so ready to head to the West Coast to see if I could find you and find some
Since that big event Wednesday night (that really freaked me out, never mind what it did to Mom), Ciara has been doing lots of sleeping. Mom keeps trying to tell me that the princess needs her rest after all that shaking and bouncing around her body did. I don't really get it, but I sure did miss her.
FINALLY around noon today, the real Ciara appeared.
Mom and I were so happy to see her smile and find her ball. She even put on a little show with that wubba that SomePup nibbled on (hmmmm, was that Phantom?). Anyway here is a short video of our girl coming back to life.
We won't talk too much about how she crashed again and took another LONG nap.
The three of us and Mom want to thank all of you so much for your kind comments and the many helpful tips you gave about seizures. Mom says she did know a lot of the facts and suggestions from having read online and from many of our friends' experiences. But there were still many new thoughts. Mom wishes she could understand what caused Ciara's seizure, but the list of possibilities is enormous. New carpeting, something eaten outside, stress, those darn black walnuts, a host of physical possibilites that we don't even want to think about - for now we are going to monitor her closely and hope this was a one time event. Mom knows now that the past week or so of bizarre behavior was actually the first stage of a seizure and will be more alert to future signs. AND she knows that just like a Mom knows when something isn't right with her child, she knew that something was really "off" with her little princess.
NOW back to ME - Phantom has been wanting to be outside all day today. I asked him, "What's up with that, Phantom? You never want to be outside!" And guess what he told me - "Lightning, there is snow up there in those skies and it is coming HERE!!!" He is so old and so wise, he MUST be right.
OK, Mom, let me out there, I want to use my laser eyes to check out those skies!!!
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
We're doing the happy dance for Ciara. We certainly hope it was a one time event! AND that you get lots of snow.

OMD, it is sooooo good to see Ciara playin' with her Wubba!! Hey, if having one of these seizures is ANYTHING like when Ma gets on of her migraines (not close, I know, butt) it REALLY wipes her out for along time. So it might be a while for her to sleep it off.
ReplyDeleteAnyhu, Lightning you KNOW you can come here anytimes and we can tear up the house!!!! BOL!! What? No. No, I didn't say that....really Mom. Shhhh, we won't tell her our plans...hehehe

Let's hope that's that in the "scary" department. It's time to relax and have fun for the holidays and MAYBE - just MAYBE in the snow! Woo Hoo!

Bentley had one seizure out of the blue with no warning and I don't know what triggered it. The vet said to give him some candy to raise his blood sugar. He was pretty disoriented for a couple hours, then went back to normal.I hope you don't have to deal with any more of them.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted the video of Ciara. Thanks for the update and praying that she STAYS better.

ReplyDeleteSo pleased to see that Ciara is getting back to her old self xx
ReplyDeleteLots of times after a seizure, you will go into a deep deep sleep afterwards. If not, you'll be extremely sleepy. SO all that sleeping she is doing, Lightning, is perfectly normal. Keep your eye on your big sister, she is going to need you! You're a good brother, you know.
