We are joining with all of Blogville today in remembering Sweet Greta of the Idaho Pug Ranch.
Greta, we did not know you well and not for very long, surely not long enough. But we do know that your passing has left a huge void in our community as well as many friends who loved you dearly, including us.
We found this poem that we think Greta might want us to hear. We are sure the unknown author has penned Greta's thoughts perfectly.
Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways
Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun
Of happy memories that I leave, when life is done.
As we all know too well, one never knows what tomorrow may bring, so enjoy today at its fullest.
Woos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
That is a grand tribute to our Furend Greta.
ReplyDeleteWe did not really know Greta either but heard about her when she ate that mushroom. Such a sweetie and so very sad.
ReplyDeleteWoos what a beautiful post and OMCs
ReplyDeleteAfterglow made our eyes moist....but oh so true. Mom says all the time she wants to be remembered exactly that way. We are promised this moment and we should always live it to the fullest.
Each time Mom speaks of my Dad's Mom she says what she remembers is her smile. Just recently when my peeps were away visiting mom's childhood friend. She said she also remember Dad's Mom as always smiling. Dad's Mom played piano in the youth Sunday School department at our church.
Hugs madi your bfff
