See Beautiful Friday
Today we thought we would show how how we "see beautiful" in our home.
Mom loves orchids, but she isn't very good at taking care of them. Luckily she has some very pretty blooms to share today.
Two of her three orchids are either blooming or about to bloom. Such a pretty shade of lavender.
Here is a close-up of the pretty orchid. How Mom wishes it could last forever!!! At least it does bloom a few times a year for her.
And this itsy bitsy baby orchid is getting ready to burst into "beautiful" too. Mom is thrilled with this one as it is the second time it has bloomed since she got it - usually the little ones die on her.
We are hoping that it will only be a few more weeks before we have some flowers in these pots to share as part of Dory's Flower Friday. But it still gets too cold at night for flowers to survive outside yet. We may get to the low 30s tonight.
And it will be really nice if these Kansas winds would die down so we can get some steaks grilling on the grill!!!
We are joining Dory and Sugar in today's blog hop.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Ciara and Lightning!!
ReplyDeleteMy mom is green with grass green envy. Those orchids are absolutely
gorgeous. AND mom knows how you feel. Our house faces north. We have one place in the entire house that gets some angled sun. Oct 2014 she bought a blooming African violet...it loved the window. She anticipated more blooms Oct 2015...zilch,nada nuttin'. She was bummmmmmmed. Lo and behold it started showing signs of blooms about mid to late march. She has been documented each bloom with a picture. There are 4 fully opened flowers now and 3 more about to open. Once all the flowers are opened she plans to post on a Flower Friday too. Oh we are doing a happy dance for your mom!!
Hugs madi your bfff and mom
We forgot that it's nearly grilling time! Those orchids are gorgeous, we noticed they are out of Sibe reach.....any reason?
ReplyDeleteOur ghostwriter can never seem to make any kind of plants grow in the house. But she usually gets some nice flowers in her outside garden. If we'd just get some nice weather, she could start working on it!
ReplyDeleteThose are so beautiful! Our mom gave up trying to grow indoor things but keeps wanting to try again. She had a Christmas Cactus that loved the bathroom, but someone kept knocking it over. Every time she went into the room!
ReplyDeleteOh, no. I know what you're thinking, but I meant Mom, not Maggie.
Ha roo woo roo!!!
Cammie!
PS: We're ready to fire up the grill, too!!!
Its so windy today mom just rode her broom to work and left her car at home. Those Orchids are beautiful, mom has never had one. Enough said. stella rose

How beautiful! Orchids are one of my favorites too, but I've never been brave enough to try growing one!
ReplyDeleteY'all look terrific and we all love blooming season!
ReplyDeleteMy mom had a friend who was a professional plant person - he took care of all the plants at the Santa Barbara Zoo! Anyhow, HE said to put an ice cube in the orchid's pot once a week and don't do anything else. It works!!

Those are such pretty flowers. We don't keep any indoor flowers and are also waiting for the temps to warm up so we can have some bloom outside.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - we love the lavender color. Our mom has no luck with indoor plants
