Today we are joining in on the Flower Friday Blog Hop hosted by Dory's Backyard.
As well as the This Moment See Beautiful Blog Hop.
We are having another "See Beautiful" Day here in OP although the weather is supposed to turn bad later this afternoon. Mom is trying a new plant this year. We are posing next to it here, but Mom says it is going to be moved to the front beds as she worries we might like to taste it:) It is called a dipladenia and is from the mandevilla family. Mom \was very happy to read this online: Because it's relatively drought tolerant, dipladenia is an excellent pick for busy or forgetful gardeners who may forget to water from time to time during the summer. They must know our Mom well as she is known to be very forgetful when it comes to her flowers.
It has very pretty trumpet-shaped flowers that come in a variety of colors - ours look like a very bright pink.
Here is a closeup of some of the buds that should be opening soon. We hope it will bloom all summer for us too. And then Mom can bring it inside for the winter.
We hope you all find some ways to See Beautiful and find some Friday Flowers in your world today too.
Meanwhile, I am going to hide out in my little shelter because I heard the weather radio just put un on a severe storm watch:(
Woos - Ciara and Lightning
Those are beautiful flowers, you guys! And Ciara, that is a great place to shelter when storms come. I hate da rain, too!
ReplyDeleteYour friend,
Christmas
That is one gorgeous plant with such pretty flowers. We sure hope the S monster doesn't come but we have told to NOT do that so hopefully that works. You all have a great week end.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers! We hope the storms aren't too severe today - and mostly that they don't bother you, Ciara! We had the edge of one come through here about an hour or so ago. It went mostly to our north. I think more is coming.
ReplyDeleteCammie!
'Drought tolerant' that's HER kind of plant! We hope the storms aren't too bad, Ciara. You just curl up there and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteOhhh that is a beautiful plant...and the hummmers will love it too.
ReplyDeleteYou know how we feel about that color...RED!! We look forward to hearing how it loves the hot Kansas summers.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty flowers! We hope the storms pass you by quietly. We saw bad storms and tornadoes in Topeka earlier so hopefully the storms stayed north of you. *paws crossed*

your dipladenia is beautiful... and that could be the perfect plant for my mom :o) has it another name too just in case they will not understand the name in our stores?
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to thunder you can never be too cautious. Your flowers are lovely!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty flower, and perfect for our mom who is a very neglectful gardener. And we are supposed to get those terrible storms here soon too, not looking forward to it for sure, but COLD tomorrow! Yay!
ReplyDeleteOhhh - my Mom loves Mandeville so she'd probably love this too...beautiful flowers....you two look so nice standing next to it too! I sure hope the bad storms don't cause any unwanted visitors or monsters - stay safe - stay calm........and hopefully all will be well!
ReplyDeleteLove, Sammy
Oh, it's so pretty! Our Mommy just loves those plants. Drought resistant is purrfect because by July we could be bone dry - you never know.
ReplyDeleteHope you gorgeous sibes have a wonderful weekend.
XOXO
That's the kind of flower ghostwriter likes: it thrives on neglect!
ReplyDeleteWe hope you didn't get any storms.
Ciara and Lightning, we enjoyed reading your flower Friday post since we have absolutely zero flowers here at our place.
ReplyDeleteSo... did you have a chance to sample that pretty things? :) :)
Momo & Pinot xo
That is a pretty flower and we bet the hummingbirds would like that.
ReplyDeleteAs for our serviceberry we have never tried to eat the berries although a quick search says it would be okay to do. We prefer to leave them all to the birds and beasts to enjoy. Our mom did a blog post about it long before she was part of Blogville with quite a few videos of different birds eating the berries. You can see that here: https://birdbrainsanddogtales.wordpress.com/2009/06/22/the-longest-day-of-the-year/ . We have also seen many four legged creatures eating them from the ground or from climbing out on the branches (think squirrels and chipmunks).
Pretty flowers,,,,we hope the storms stayed away.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
The flower is really pretty, and my kind of one to have since I'm one of those "forgetful gardeners."
ReplyDeleteHope the storms miss you - I'm really worn out from the ones we've been having every day for nearly 3 weeks.
Happy flower Friday! Like your pretty pink Dipladenia (never seen one before...but we give it 8 paws up!)
