Come Fly with Us

Today we are joining with many of our friends in the "Come Fly with Me" adventure for Sammy, sponsored by Madi and Angel Easy with hopping by Dory's Backyard.

Sammy loves to travel to lots of places in the world and shows us lots of those experiences on his Teaser Tuesday posts.  We decided to take Sammy to a very special store in our city of Overland Park, KS.

Scheel's is a mega sports store in Overland Park’s Corbin Park, including a service shop, interior design department, shooting and sports simulator and much more:

• 16,000 gallon overhead aquarium
• 65-foot, 16-car Ferris Wheel
• Walk of the U.S. Presidents featuring fully animated, talking presidents
• SCHEELS deli and fudge shop
• Golf, soccer, hockey, baseball, football and basketball sports simulators
• Wildlife mountain

They even let DOGS come into the store!!!  We got special permission to let our special visitor Sammy join us on a trip to Scheel's.

When you first enter the store you see this huge aquarium which has three columns of aquariums with a large tank overhead joining them altogether.

Sammy was fascinated by the many brightly colored fish in this tank.

Now you know that Sammy is a very learned kitty and knows about so many great facts of history.  So during our visit he had a chance to visit with two famous historical figures from U.S. history.

We all learned about the Declaration of Independence from Thomas Jefferson.

And President Abraham Lincoln shared his famous Gettysburg Address with us and our guest.  It was all so fascinating.

But the highlight of our trip could be found at the center point of the store.  Look what is INSIDE this building:

A HUGE ferris wheel.

The ride's operator found the perfect seat for us to sit in so that we could ride to the top and see the whole store.

As you can see, it was just an amazing experience!!!

As our car approached the top of the ride, we spotted this duckpin bowling game off in the distance.  We were hoping to throw a few balls before leaving.

Then Sammy was quite impressed when his eye caught a glimpse of another member of the CAT family.

Can you believe there is even a mountain inside the store and look at all the wildlife there!!!  We almost felt like we were on a safari.

And lastly as we got ready to leave the store, we were greeted by this big bear.  Lightning had to tell Misty that this was NOT the kind of stuffy she could play with.  Sammy meowed his respect to the big guy.
