Massive Fire in OP

We have received a number of emails about the big fire in OP and concern for us. We are fine, but we are pretty close to the fire.  The fire has consumed a brand new large apartment/office complex about four miles north of us under construction for the past 2-3 years and just ready to begin leasing units.  In addition at least 12 homes within two miles of the fire have caught on fire from heat radiation and/or flying embers.

As you can see, we are safely tucked away in our home.  There is quite a bit of smoky smell outside.  One of the apartment structures is still burning three hours after the fire began.  The good news is that only one injury has been reported so far, and it is minor injuries to a firefighter. Over 50 fire companies are here from all over the area, some from as far away as 50 miles.  Because there is some wind in the area, there is still a risk of flying embers, but we are pretty sure we are far enough away.  If you want to see more about the fire, you can see it HERE, our local NBC TV affiliate.

Thanks to all who thought about us.  Please keep all those affected by the fire in your thoughts and prayers.  It is wonderful that it doesn't appear that there were any serious injuries but there is a huge loss of property.
