Today we thought we would join Da DB Boys and their Mama for Flower Friday.
Most of our summer flowers are in the pots in the backyard - you know, the ones that the Momster put in jail. You can read about that silly action HERE.
So today we want to show you the view from the FRONT. That is the front yard. Here is one little corner where you can see all the pretty pink and white waxed begonias and those other little yellow flowers right next to Lightning. Mom doesn't know what they are called, but she planted them as a perennial about 15 years ago. Way back then, they were in a little 4 inch pot. Now they are totally out of control and keep trying to take control of our Princess spirea. Mom wishes she could find a way to get rid of them for good.
She would much rather have the beautiful yellow daylilies and Princess spirea that you can see above.
I have a question for you, Lightning. Why aren't these flowers locked up in jail like the ones in the backyard? Maybe it is OK for me to take a nibble or two?
Don't you dare even think about that, Misty. Wouldn't you rather have a big nibble of those treats in Mom's paws before we go for our walk? Nibbling on those pretty flowers would put an end to that possibility for sure.
Woos - Lightning and Misty
Oh Misty, nice try but you had better not do that. Those poor flowers would end up in jail too or even worse, you might end up in jail.Hope you two have a great walk and hope all of you have a good week end.
ReplyDeleteBest not to nibble. Me and Stanley nibbled everything down when we were little goats oops, I mean pups but now it grew back.
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley

that is beautiful!!! we have jail plants here too... but the mama said they only have to do their time in jail, they are not sentenced to death... so no job for the beheader...sigh...
ReplyDeleteMom thinks the yellow plant is a type of Ruellia http://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/plants/3343/dwarf-katie-ruellia/
ReplyDeleteShe isn't sure because ours is purple They are also called wild petunias, our tall variety is called Mexican Petunias and our dwarf variety is called Katie Ruellia.
Our mom says your yellow flower is Coreopsis verticillata ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coreopsis_verticillata )
ReplyDeleteWe have some in our garden too and have to keep them in check as well. You sure have some pretty flowers in your yard.
Such pretty flowers and we agree those mystery yellow flowers are coreopsis!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
Your garden is so pretty! It's nice that you don't try to nibble on them, well at least when mom is watching!
