What is going on here???
Today is the big day for the Total Eclipse!!!
HEY - who turned the lights out???
We are still three hours away from total eclipse time
and look how dark it is!!!
We are so bummed. We are only a short distance south of the St. Joseph, MO area where there is supposed to be a 100% eclipse. But with three hours to go, we have dark skies already, lots of clouds, and thunderstorms. How are we going to see even the 99% we are supposed to get??? Mother Nature is misbehaving again.
I guess it's just another Manic Monday. I may as well take a snooze and hope the skies clear soon.
UPDATE: It cleared up!!! Mom says it is just amazing to see. So far the sun is about 3/4 covered here. Another 20 min. to go and we should be dark.

Oh no, hope the sky clears up for you so you can see the moon do it's thing. So far it is sunny here, so we may get to see the eclipse. Good luck to you and have a super day anyway.
ReplyDeleteIt's dark here today too, with rain forecast. Guess we'll all stay inside and watch it on TV.
ReplyDeleteIt's all cloudy here, too. Booooooo!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
Hopefully you'll get a break in the cloud cover soon!
ReplyDeleteOh pooooh we sure hope your skies clear up enough to get a glimpse.
ReplyDeleteWe just watched on tv it in Madras, OR. Amazing how dark it got.
We are in 93%. WE have lots of puffy clouds. Mom is gonna sit on the covered back porch at about 2:15 to see how dark it gets

What a bummer. We watched the eclipse on TV and it was amazing!
ReplyDeleteDang storms! We've just been listening to the news from Nashville. They had clouds, too, but luckily they parted for about 30 seconds to give the full effect! Must have been awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am so very happy that it cleared up and you go to see the eclipse
ReplyDeleteWooooHoooo! OMD, I am so glads that it cleared!!! Ma was out running errands, butts she brought her glasses with her so she could see it, and it was barely noticeable here unless you had the glasses like Ma did, and could look at the sun. She was so excited, and it didn't disappoint!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Ruby ♥
We had 98% here, it did not get as dark as we thought it would

We only had a 70% eclipse and thankfully the skies were clear. Our pawrents used a pinhole viewer to keep track of its progress. It didn't get dark but we did notice the temperature drop a few degrees.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is SO cool! I'm glad you got to see something of the eclipse, I can't wait to read all about your experience.

maybe mother nature pushed the wrong button as someone turned the light off? instead of sun she only found the thunder-button... girls huh?
ReplyDeleteOh, we're so glad the weather cleared up! We only had about 75% coverage here. It didn't really get dark, just looked like late afternoon. But Momma said it was a whole lot cooler out, and it was really pawesome watching through the special glasses.
ReplyDeleteMoms boss drove all the way from SE Iowa to Columbia Mo. cos he wanted to get the best view of the eclipse BUTT instead all he ran into was rain, and big thunderstorms, mom said that is what he gets for skipping work and making her work....hehehehe.......mags
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Our mom went to Nashville to see it, and a darn cloud got in the way, but it still was dark and beautiful, yet fleeting which made it all the more breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteYou're pretty lucky to have gotten such a great view! It was a bit of a non-event in Europe!
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Tomy
We are glad to hear you could see it and the weather cooperated! We watched it on tv and it was amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe agree it was an amazing sight. We got to play in teh field while the hoomas looked to the sky. Glad those pesky clouds moved so you all could see!
