We are bored, Mom. We need something to perk up our day.
What's that? We got another surprise package in the mail???
Yes, that is right. Chewy.com sent us a box with two new products they have added to their website. They didn't say we needed to do a review, but since these products seem like they would be very beneficial for you and a lot of your furry pals, let's tell our readers about them.
Natalie, our Influencer Outreach Specialist from Chewy.com told us that they have created a new line of hip and joint health soft chews and probiotic digestive health support supplements for dogs. As the company continues to grow, they hope to add new products for cats too. Let's check them out.
The first product was a box of 30 packets of Dr. Lyon's Probiotic Supplement. We all know how important it is to keep the digestive system is good shape. That's what this supplement will help to do. It comes in an easy single-serve packet that you just sprinkle on your food. It has a delicious chicken liver flavor for flavor and palatability. The supplement delivers four live, active cultures that are naturally occurring to help maintain a dog's normal microflora. It also helps to maintain proper intestinal health and a strong immune system.
Since there are 30 packets, Mom says we can each have a packet for 10 days to give it a try. It makes our kibble look like it is sugar-coated. There is a lot of valuable research out there that tells how important a good probiotic can be for our health. So we will give it a try. Besides, we do love the taste of chicken liver:)
We are very grateful to Chewy.com and you, Mom, for wanting to keep us healthy. We think that sounds like a great product. Do you have anything else for us?
Yes, I do indeed.
Another Dr. Lyon's product. It is Dr. Lyon's Hip + Joint Support Supplement. This supplement is designed to support a dog's active lifestyle every step of the way. The formula has six active ingredients specifically chosen for powerful hip and joint support: glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and manganese. Those are the same ingredients Mom hears about for good human health too when she listens to those infomercial shows on the radio. The soft chews also contain salmon oil to provide omega-3 fatty acids that support skin and coat health.
Now two of us are pretty young to be worrying about hip and joint problems. But this product is meant to support our mobility for daily activities like running, jumping, and playing (and doing zoomies too, we bet). Lightning will be seven this year, making him a "senior" dog. He surely will benefit from this product too.
On top of all these wonderful benefits, the soft chews make a great-tasting reward, and they break apart so you can get the right dosage. Now we don't like treats to be broken into smaller pieces, but since this is a supplement that should be dispensed according to weight, we understand.
There is a chart on the Chewy.com website that explains very well the feeding instructions:
For the first 4-6 weeks, follow the Initial Period dosage below. Some dogs may respond sooner, at which time the number of soft chews may transition to the recommended maintenance level.
Weight | Daily Feeding (Initial Period) | Daily Feeding (Maintenance) |
---|---|---|
UP TO 20 LBS | 1/2 soft chew | 1/2 soft chew, every other day |
21 - 40 LBS | 1 soft chew (1/2 morning, 1/2 evening) | 1/2 soft chew |
41 - 80 LBS | 1 soft chews daily | 1 soft chew every other day |
OVER 80 LBS | 2 soft chews (1 morning, 1evening) | 1 soft chew daily |
So after all that wordiness, we say it is time to give these soft chews a taste try. Since it is our first time trying them, we can all get a whole chew every day. After 4-6 weeks, we would get one every other day. They smell and taste delicious. Mom says she will have to hide the bag because we like them so much. In addition to all those wonderful active ingredients, the chews also have other ingredients: Brewer’s Dried Yeast, Calcium Propionate, Canola Oil, Caramel Color, Corn Starch, Dried Cheddar Cheese, Glycerin, Green Tea Extract, Gum Arabic, Lecithin, Liver Meal, Mixed Tocopherols, Natural Flavors, Pea Fiber, Rosemary Extract, Salmon Oil, Salt, Sorbic Acid, Vegetable Oil, Water, Yucca Schidigera Extract. That cheddar cheese really hit the spot.
Thank you, Chewy.com for letting us try out these two great products. They were an extra nice surprise since we were not expecting them. Hey, Mom - since we can't have another of the supplements for another day, and since it is still pretty yucky outside, how about another treat for us cute pups???
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Chicken liver....enough said. We'd gladly eat them.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Chewy just so thoughtful and generous. They sent me a supplement too and I'm really liking it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a better weather day tomorrow. Freezing rain and ice and slush are no fun.

PeeS: Our Grandpa from KS is missing your fun weather this winter because he's been snowbirding in South Padre Island where it's 80 on the beach. Yeah, we know, not fair. We want to go birding too!
So great of Chewy to send surprises. We got some hip and joint tabs.
