Flower Friday through the Rain

We thought we would join Rosy, Arty, and Jakey from LLB in Our Backyard for the Flower Friday bloghop.

Most of our summer blooms are fading away as fall approaches, but we made this collage for you to see some of what we have growing right now.  Some of the shots are "through the window" as the sky has decided to let the rain faucets run nonstop.

We think flowers always looks healthy and pretty in the rain.  But we sure wish it would let up so we can get out and have some fun running around.

Mom had to bring her small pot of succulents inside because they were about to float right out of the pot.  They need some drying out time inside (just like us).

Here is a closeup of the pretty pink Penta.  Mom uses this flower in the window boxes because they seem to do pretty well in the Kansas heat.  Now there WAS once upon a time a pretty lantana plant in the middle, but somehow it disappeared:) Misty and Timber say it had to be a squirrel!

And last but not least our imprisoned pots of begonias, penta, lantana, and diplodenia are still incarcerated.  Mom says they are much safer than being allowed to grow "free on the deck".

We have no idea why Mom thinks flowers are better when they are in jail, but we think this Rose of Sharon looks a lot better with us posing in front of it:)  Let's hope that rain stops soon so we can be outside with the flowers too.

  3. Gorgeous absolutely 100% we agree with Bertie...Pretty Pink In Kansas.
Mom giggled at this "Misty and Timber say it had to be a squirrel!" I told her not to laugh because squirrels are a sneaky lot making by K9 friends shoulder lots of unnecessary blame.

We need some nice steady gentle rain for a few hours. We've had some quick burst. Today is day 12 of consecutive 90 or higher temps.
    Maybe rain this weekend

  5. All the flowers are so very pretty. It is so hot here, all of ours have gone away. The imprisoned flowers look great, thanks to being in jail. Silly Woos, why do you like to take flowers away??? You all have a super weekend.
We agree that a Poem should be written about our 3 Littles.

  27. All your flowers look so pretty! And the imprisoned flowers made our mom laugh...last year, she imprisoned the whole garden thinking that for once, she could grow flowers! We proved her wrong, haha!
