Lightning is sort of in a holding pattern for now. The vets/surgeons have determined that he is not a good candidate for surgery. He appears to have some bone issues that are interfering with a treatment plan. He will be having some additional tests done this week. Meanwhile he is still getting moderate levels of pain medication to keep him comfortable. He has to spend a lot of time resting. He is trying to put some weight on his leg. But Mom is doing her best to keep him off it for now.
We are also doing our best to keep him down too.

Sorry we are so late getting here. We sure send so many good thoughts to you Lightning and to your Mom too. We know this is so hard for both of you. Glad you are resting. Sure hope for a miracle and you will get a little better.
ReplyDeleteHomeopathy can help heal torn acls. I did this with my german shepherd and worked with a classical homeopathy via phone and email (she lived in SC and I live in Montana). Rhus tox helps if it gets better with movement and bryonia helps if movement makes it worse. You can get these homeopath remedies at most health stores. Use 30c. Also have you tried cbd oil for any pain that is felt. Dogs Naturally magazine has great articles on it on their website and a buyers guide for free and what to look for.

pees: ask your vettie if you can take some cbd oil with the pain meds. sometimes you can, sometimes not, butts maybe it can help. at least it can help keep you calm and keep the anxiety down. maybe.
