It's a GOOD day to be a Misty!!!
I had a great visit with my surgeon last night. He took x-rays of my knee and said it looks fantastic!!! It is healing beautifully (he added, "Just like Misty."). If it weren't for my other bum knee, he said I could start resuming more activity right away. But he doesn't want me to do any more damage to the other knee. He told Mom that I can have that other surgery when he comes back in two weeks. He is at our clinic every two weeks on Thursdays and Fridays. It is up to Mom and Dad. They are leaning toward waiting until four weeks from today just to give the first knee more time to get strong. It is a hard choice because the sooner the second surgery is done, the sooner I can be a real Sibe again. I really want to be a real Sibe. But I guess I have to leave this call to the peeps.
I hope Timber doesn't mind; I borrowed his starfish.
While I play with it, you can take a peek at how good my incision looks.
Here is a short videos of me getting to go for a longer walk today. I have been only walking in front of our house and maybe up two more houses. Today I got to go four houses up the street. Mom is going to add a house a day until she feels like I can go farther. It was so good to get to check out some different pee mail on our street. The news right around our house was getting pretty old, lots of junk mail everywhere. Enjoy.
And I am really sure that you noticed that I am missing something - my HEADGEAR!!! Mom says I have to wear it at night when her hawkeyes are sleeping. And then I heard her saying something to Dad about keeping it safe for future use - surely NOT FOR ME!!!
Have a great weekend.
Woos - Misty (Lightning and Timber too)

Your incision is looking really good, Misty. It must feel good to be able to walk a little further and build your muscles and strength back up in your leg. Congrats on losing the headgear at least by day.
ReplyDeleteMisty if there's one thing we know FOR SURE it's that your Mom and Dad will make the very BESTEST decisions EVER on your behalf. Your incision looks great and I know you enjoy not having a conehead anymore....just take it easy......you have done SO WELL!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy and Mom
It's great to see that you are doing so well Misty. We're super happy to see you without your cone.
ReplyDeleteMISTY THIS IS IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE DEAR SWEET GIRL I AM SQUEALING WITH JUBILATION AND GLEE OVER THIS MOST WOODERFUL NEWS. I AGREE WITH MOM AND DAD ABOUT 4 WEEKS BEFORE THE NEXT SURGERY. ALL THAT WALKING YOU ARE NOW ABLE TO DO WILL GIVE YOUR SURGICAL KNEE TONS MORE STRENGTH AND MOBILITY TO HELP OUT WITH THE OTHER SURGERY. I TELL YOU ONE THING IF WOO TAILS COULD TALK YOURS WOULD BE SINGING WITH GLEE. YOUR WALKING VIDEO WAS WONDERFUL I COULD NOT EVEN SEE ANY FAVORING OF THE SURGICAL LEG!!! WTG SWEET GIRL.

Aren't you just like a "toddler plus some" ... anxious to get up and go! Just remember those very wise words that "all good things come to she who waits", so it may be that the pawrents are right about waiting just a little bit longer ...
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to all.

ReplyDeleteWhat FANTASTIC news Misty!!! WE know your peeps will make the best decision for your overall recovery
