Then WHY am I still in this headgear???
Oh, yes, Mom - I AM thankful too.
But remember I have a birthday next week - surely I won't be coned for THAT!!!
Mom here: The staples came out, but the area where the drainage had scabbed over posed a challenge for staple removal. So the surgeon's assistant says a few more days in the cone would be a good thing. The area is going to be itchy, and there is NO doubt that Mischievous Misty will try to get at it. But we are all thankful that so far things are going so well for her. She sees the surgeon next week and will have x-rays done to see how the repair is looking. Then we can start to plan for surgery #2. I am not pushing for it; I am more than willing to let some more healing time go by before we tackle the other knee.
Woos - Misty (mischievous???, ME???) and Mom
We are SO happy to hear things are healing nicely Misty...although, we are sad you are stuck in the cone a few more days :-(
ReplyDeleteHang in there!!
Oh goody the staples are out. You have to be good so you can be cone free for your birthday. I'll be over to celebrate with you. What great news, Miss Misty.
ReplyDeleteTell your mom that it's how she linked to Thankful Thursday that was the problem. Not her blog. She had www.address.blogspot.com and should have had https://address.blogspot.com. Once I put it in right it worked just fine.
Have a woof woof day, Misty. My best to your siblings and your wonderful mom. ♥
That's no fair that you still have to wear that cone. At least it should only be for a few more days. Paws crossed it comes off before your birthday.

ReplyDeleteMisty, it is just marvellous how you are healing and I think a few more days can only be to the betterment for you. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
That is good news that the staples are out. Better to wear the cone for a few more days, Misty, than to undo all the good work.
ReplyDeleteWe you got some really good news sweet Misty and you can celebrate without the cone soon! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteWe are so thankful that you are recovering so well Misty!!

Glad you are healing. Sorry you still need to cone. XO
ReplyDeleteThat's great news, so hang in there, Misty! A few more days they say, and it's much better to be cautious rather than to reopen the wound and have to spend even more time wearing the cone.
ReplyDeleteGlad to read the good report for your girl Misty - She's done so well on her recovery thanks to you! But I'm with you, a little more healing can be a good thing too!
ReplyDeleteI hope Lightning is doing great too!
we hope for the bestest news when you see your doc.. and we send you lots of power for da speediest recovery ever
ReplyDeleteGlad the staples are out!
ReplyDeleteWe love great reports, Misty! More healing vibes are on their way to you. You NEED to be cone-free for your birthday!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a grreat report, Misty! You'll be cone-free by your barkday!
ReplyDeleteMisty 3 cheers for all this good news. I can surely understand itchy and not being about to control the urge to scratch/lick. I agree with mom let this surgery heal then you can tackle #2 before the cold weather arrives. Don't want to be trying to potty on the ice when you are limping with surgical leg
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday
Hugs cecilia
the Tribe is thankful that MIsty is healing! We have a barkie friend who went through a similar surger (and recovery) and he is doing great. We are sending Misty early birthday wishes!

YAY! Staples out! Progress towards "losing" that cone Misty. Be a good girl and let things heal up properly - I know you can do it!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
Such pawsome news! Keep up the good work on the healing, Misty-girl. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGlad things are healing for you. Never fun having stitches or staples in or that bulky cone either. You have a lot to be thankful for and listen to the doctor and your Mom and you'll be out of that bulky cone real soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, you, Misty! I'm so glad that you are healing well. I love a mischievous dog!
ReplyDelete#1 says she knows all about staples! We know you are a good girl, Misty!
