Poor Timber thought he was a TimBird and ate a bunch of berries from the neighbor's barberry bush:( He had Mom worried when she saw "pink and red" stuff in his vomit (sorry for the graphic description). But then she realized it looked more like red berries than blood. She made a tour of the yard and found some branches sticking through the fence and the red culprits on the ground.
According to the vet, the berries aren't poisonous to dogs, but they can be big irritants to the tummy. Thankfully a day of fasting, a Pepcid or two, and some TLC from Mom, Misty, and Lightning, he is doing just fine now. Mom went out to pick up all the berries left on the ground and off the branches hanging in our yard, and then she cut the branches back. Needless to say, her fingers are sore from all the prickles even through gloves. But in the meantime, the Silly Sibe sought some comfort from his Big Brother Lightning.
What WAS he thinking??? :)
And now for a little Caturday Art with Misty:

ReplyDeletePoor Timber....a bad case of "berry belly" - glad he's feeling better and no doubt having a nap with Lightning as his pillow helped! Misty you look fabulous in your artsy portrait.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
Lulu: "Oooh, those don't sound like good berries at all. Not like Dave Barry or Halle Berry or Barry Manilow. Glad you are feeling better, Timber!"
ReplyDeleteAww, poor Timber. Sorry his tummy was upset, but love how he sought out some comfort. Next time let your huMum give you the proper berries. Ear rubs to the whole Sibes gang.
ReplyDeletePoor Timber. We have lots of barberry in our yard but we've always left the berries to the birds. Lightning does make a good pillow but we think Timber's head placement could be hazardous if Lightning had a little gas. BOL! Misty's picture is cute too.
ReplyDeletePoor Timber. I hope you are better soon. I love your art. XO
ReplyDeleteWe are so different we would never eat that stuff but Dogs and Cats are who they are we hope that tummy feels better soon.
ReplyDeletePoor Timber. We hope you're feeling better soon. The art is lovely.

Goodness gracious! We feel for Timber! We hope he is feeling better. We do like the cuddle shots though and Misty, your Caturday Art is wonderful! We love the sketch! It would make a terrific piece printed on canvas. Thanks for visiting us and have a marvellously (and berry free) Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteHope your tummy troubles are over soon. We are thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the art work of Misty.
Poor Timber. Sending lots of love and prayers for that sweet baby
ReplyDeleteWe all eat something we shouldn't some time or another. Glad it wasn't poisonous!
ReplyDeleteYears ago, when we lived in a subdivision, we had Barberry bushes all along the edge of our property in the common area - and I worried about the dogs "foraging" in the berries because I thought they were poisonous. All that time worrying, and pulling the dogs out of the bushes, and I didn't have to! 😊
ReplyDeleteBut I hope that Timber continues to feel better. Show him Misty's Caturday Art, that'll help too!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend - Sibe weather again in Virginia, MORE snow is predicted for tonight.
Poor baby, and parents! I'm glad it wasn't dangerous. ❤️
ReplyDeleteOh Timber.. Hope you're all better now. Thankfully it wasn't poisonous. You must have your mommy worried.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!! Lots of love and hugs!
