Just a quick update on Lightning.
Don't worry, I will stick right by you until you are feeling better, just like you did for me after my two knee surgeries.
I have so many nurses here I can't get any rest - Timber wants to share my bed.
Finally some alone time. I am just going to sleep the day away and dream of my adventures in Dr. SeussVille.
From Mom: So the dental went well. Lightning did have that big tooth extracted. In the vet's words, the tooth was "terminal". He did fine with the surgery and anesthesia. But - there is always a but - the vet called me before he woke Lightning up to talk about a lump he found on the top of his tongue just under the surface. Not one of those warty things, but a firm lump. After discussion of options, we decided to have the vet remove the lump and send it to the lab for analysis. Results will be back in about a week - 50/50 chance of good/bad news:( He has also lost 7 pounds since November or December that I cannot explain by anything I have done to change his diet. We are going to go with a glass half full and hope for only good news.
If you missed it, be sure to check out our previous post for Dr. Seuss Day HERE. We think it will make you smile.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

ReplyDeleteI hope the mass on his tongue is nothing. The older I get the more bumps and lumps I have. Doctor says most are normal.

I am glad the tooth was successfully removed with no problems. I hope the biopsy of the lump comes back good too.
ReplyDeleteWe are glad that the terminal tooth was put out of its misery. We are sending purrayers that the lump is benign and the reason that Lightening has lost weight is from the tooth! Thanks for letting us know. Sending you many purrayers.

Oh dear, there's always a but, isn't there? We have all paws crossed here. Morgan had a lump in her mouth that needed to be removed. It all turned out well though she added a few more grey hairs to my head.
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "A lump? We don't like lumps in places they aren't supposed to be!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "We are sending lots of purrs for the good news scenario!"
Lulu: "And I send lots of fluffy tail wags!"
