Misty Update:
All is fine. Misty had her surgery. Dr. B. is confident it is truly just a big, ugly, and benigh sebaceous cyst. He was able to remove the entire mass with clean margins. The good news is that the bursting of the cyst actually made the surgery easier. AND since it was situated just slightly off center, he was able to use that "fenestration" procedure to close the wound. He perforated some of the skin on the tail from the other side of the cyst area with multiple small slits to make it like a "mesh" and then stretched it to cover the opening. She has a few stitches that will be removed in about two weeks. She will have to wear her cone for the next two weeks, and hopefully her furpals will not bother the area. She will be crated whenever Mom is away and at bedtime. She isn't home yet, but she should be back in an hour or so. Misty was not at all happy about missing her breakfast this morning. We will make it up to her as soon as post-surgery allows:)
So yes it IS a Happy Tuesday. All paws crossed NOW for good healing. Time to hop along the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop sponsored by Comedy Plus.

ReplyDeleteThat is very good news. I hope you soon have your girl back home.
ReplyDeleteWe're so glad to read this news. It won't be fun for Misty to have to wear the cone but that will help insure the sutures hold and allow the wound to close. We will keep our paws crossed that all goes well for her recovery.
ReplyDeleteGlad everything went well. She is in my prayers. XO
