Happy Sunday!!!
Yes, I am STILL wearing this silly lampshade, even for my Selfie. Truth be told, it is the third cone since Tuesday when I had my tail surgery. When I am outside and try to come up the stairs, the bottom edge of the cone hits the stairs and shatters in the cold. Mom has duct taped two of them to the point that there is more duct tape than plastic. So she picked up two new ones Friday at the vet's. So far this one is in good shape. Too bad Mom spots the cracked one before I get a chance to figure out what the heck is going on with my tail. It feels really weird and makes me very itchy. But old Eagle Eye Mom is always on patrol.
In case you want to see how my incision is doing (this is a first for me too since I can't see it either), my tail decided to do a Selfie too.
Or would that be a Tailsie???
As you can see it is healing extremely well. All those little circular marks are where Dr. B. used that fenestration process to make some slits in my skin so it would stretch more easily to cover the big incision. Mom is very pleased with how everything is looking. Too bad I can't help it along a bit:) But I am being a good girl (for the most part).
And lastly we have another odd Selfie for you.
Woos - Misty
We are sure there are many more interesting Selfies out there to see, so let's hop on the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop sponsored by The Cat on My Head.
I am glad you are healing. Nice work on the puzzle. XO

ReplyDeleteThat surgery looks like a very neat job, Misty - AND you got a poodle cut for the festive look!!! Mum's puzzle is so pretty and I bet it was a good challenge! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I'm glad you're healing up sweet Misty, you look so pretty! Tell your Mom that puzzle is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh boy that looks painful. I am glad it is healing. Have you tried a different type of collar. I don't want you to turn and knock the house down.
ReplyDeletethat are such good news... and we send more potp for a super fast healing...
ReplyDeleteYour tail is looking good, Misty. Would a soft cone work better for you? That is a beautiful but very difficult looking puzzle.
ReplyDeleteYour tail looks great, Misty! You'll be cone-free before you know it! That Bgraamiens looks like a doozy but what a beautiful puzzle!
ReplyDeleteHealing purrs Misty, it's looking really good and we have our paws crossed you will be cone free in no time. Mom really likes the puzzle your Mom did.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea they make round puzzles. this one is pretty and I bet it is harder to do. no corners to start with. your tail looks really good and I am thinking you might have a poodle cut if we could see the whole tail. i have seen on other blogs, soft cones, like stuffed ones. don't know where the come from, but they would not shatter. I also never new about plastic freezing and breaking. I do know water pipes do though..
ReplyDeleteHello from a new reader. I've just come across your blog and I'm enjoying it. I've never seen surgery on a tail before, so I sure hope it wasn't too painful. I absolutely love that puzzle! I had a look at it on Amazon. I like 1000 piece puzzles, but this one seems challenging, to say the least. I'm going to see if it's available here (Australia.)
ReplyDeleteWell Misty may I just say that you still look beautiful even with your lampshade! Your tail will get it's fur back before you know it and your incision looks "healthy" and THAT's what is important. Hang in there - soon you will be able to take that cone off (if you promise to leave your tail alone!). That round puzzle is beautiful - your Mom must have had fun doing that one!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
You and your tail are looking great, Misty. We're sorry that you have to keep wearing that cone but your tail looks like it is healing really well. That is a pretty puzzle your mom did, too.
ReplyDeleteOh Misty your recent surgical area looks really really good. I bet in no time the stitches will be out the itching gone and your glorious furs will cover. Give mom a high five for that puzzle.
ReplyDeleteI got dizzy just looking at it.
Hugs Cecilia
What a beautiful girl you are Misty, even if you have to wear the crazy cone! It looks like the vet did a great job with your surgery, and hopefully you will be good to go soon!

Tailsies! You could be starting a new fashion, Misty! I feel for you because I too now have to wear a cone! The area around my incision got very inflamed from the sticky plaster that was on it, so now that I have my stitches out, it has to heal. #1 ordered one of those inflatable doughnuts for me and it will arrive tomorrow. The cone isn't quite big enough so I can reach my leg if I make a real effort. You should hear #1 when she hears the first lick!
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Ollie
Whoa...that's one impressive Tailsie! Hopefully there won't be more frozen cones and you can get out of the HBO satellite soon.
ReplyDeleteMisty! We are so glad to see your Selfie and your Tailsie! It is nice to know that your tail is healing well and that you are too! You both look marvellous darling! Cinnamon agrees with you on the collars. She HATES them too. She too liked "breaking" hers on the stairs. And your Mom's puzzle looks like it was fun! Us cat's wont allow our Mom to make puzzles, the pieces are too tempting to bat around.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a tough puzzle! Dad is doing a hard one too. Mom kept Morgan's old plastic hat which is more duct tape than plastic. Mom says she should have just made a tape cone for her in the first place. It's better than Mackey's baby cone that she ate big chunks from.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "That's a big bunch of stitches, Misty! I'm glad you're healing up nicely, and send lots of fluffy tail wags for it to continue!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "And we Hipsters send purrs!"
