Thankful Thursday

Hello, friends.  We are here to do a short post. Mom says it has not exactly been a period of time with lots of good news, but we always have reason to be thankful.  Hey, we are still here, doing relatively well, and so happy to have a good home where we are well cared for and loved.

As you can tell from the wet pawprints on the deck floor, it has been rather wet here this week.  Maybe all that rain will get Mom's imprisoned flowers growing a bit bigger.

We are going to be at camp for a long weekend as the peeps head to Texas for one of the grands' graduation.  The oldest grand, who lives here in OP, graduated last week.  The granddaughter will be headed to Creighton University, and the grandson is going to follow in his parents' footsteps and go to the University of Southern California.  Both have excelled in high school and are ready for their next adventure and challenge.  Meanwhile, we could use some good thoughts as we head to the vets for boarding.  Timber is just coming off a bout of acute colitis and gastritis, and Misty is battling something that has still not been diagnosed for sure.  She has been having blood in her stools for a while now.  The vet has explored multiple possibilities and tests with no success yet. She is currently on a special prescription diet.  If that doesn't do the trick, then she will have to have a procedure done to check out inside her intestines, maybe a polyp issue, or maybe something more unspeakable.  All good thoughts welcome.

The situations, yes, plural, with family medical problems continue.  It seems like each week, there is a new concern with a different person.  There have been 6 major things to deal with since mid-April.  We all wonder when it is going to end and end well.  All of the chaos is still preventing us from being very active in the blogging world.  We hope you understand.

We will close by showing what has helped Mom keep her sanity over these trying times.  Thanks to the suggestion and encouragement from Millie and Walter's Mom Cindy, she crocheted this mosaic pattern afghan for the granddaughter going to Creighton in the school's colors of royal blue and white.

In the next photo, you can see the reverse side of the afghan.

Mom is very proud of the finished product even if it was a pain in the neck - seriously it literally caused her to have very bad pain in her neck from all the hours she spent trying to have it ready on time for graduation day.  Now she has to think about making a different one for the grandson.

Hugs and good wishes to all of you.  We hope to be back next week to celebrate a special day:)

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  23. We have missed you but knew you probably were super busy or dealing with other issues and would be back when you could - and here you are! We will certainly keep fingers and paws crossed that the Woos are OK and nothing super serious is going on. We do know that can be such a huge worry as our feline and canine members of the family are so very dear to us. We also are sorry there have been human worries as well and let's hope all things look up for everyone soon!! That afghan is absolutely a WORK OF ART - beautiful - and a whole lot of work that's for sure! We send you all hugs and hope for better days.............................
