We have a mystery here. Mom has two planters on the deck. They both have the same plants in them, pentas and variegated ivy. When she left for the graduation weekend in Texas and we were at the spa, someCritter came and consumed all the flowers in one. Look!!!
Planter on the left - all the flowers have disappeared and were obviously broken off - they didn't just die.
Planter on the right - beautiful blooming pink pentas!!!
We hope you aren't thinking those two innocent faces and the third (who is peeking under the planter) in the window had anything to do with it. Yes, we agree, there IS a reason Mom puts her planters behind prison bars. But. . .
This time it REALLY had to be those pesky treerats - at least that's our story and we are sticking to it.

I agree that sticking with that story is a good thing. Mom thinks so too. Just look extra innocent.

ReplyDeleteI have a post about disapearing flowers from planters just like these, somewhere on snapper blog. Someone at the nursing home accused another resident of destroying the flowers. I knew who did it so went early one morning and documented the thief. It was a TREERAT Mama Squirrel, I caught her eating flowers, digging roots, totally destroying the flowers... glad it was any of you and I KNEW it was not

ReplyDeleteOh for sure it was those treerats but isn't it weird they chose ONE planter over the other when they're both planted with the same things????? Crazy but then we're talking treerats here and they ARE crazy! Love the Woo photo - what sweet faces and big smiles!

Oh my Woos!! We are spraying our potted plants on the deck with Repel-All about every other day.
ReplyDeleteIt is not harmful to critters but they don't like the taste.
The plant prisoners are very pretty.

The night creatures love tasting all the new plants. We have bunnies, deer, opossums and raccoons who all like to eat the vegetation, to say nothing of destructive birds.
ReplyDeleteIt is disappointing when that happens. About 3 weeks ago I planted petunias in some of my pots. Next morning 2 pots had been almost completely eaten! The slugs had been out and feasted overnight.
