Not there yet:(
But Mom, you said TODAY was Freedom Day.
Well, Ms. Misty, I gave you 4 hours of "freedom" and you decided you just HAD to try to clean that area. Licking is still a no no!!!
See that little spot at the top left - it is dry and closed, but we just can't have you opening it up again. Maybe another day or two.
FINE - I am just going to pout in the laundry room.
Woos - Misty and Mom
Note from Mom: Maybe I am being overly cautious, but I think i am going to be Mean Mom and make her wear her cone when I can't have my eyes on her for another day or so. I think all she wants to do is to clean the whole area, but it doesn't take much to get a wound open again.
Awww Monday Blog Hop - here we come!!!
You're being a good mom, not a mean one. I'm with you. Better safe than sorry. Poor baby. Gentle healing hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches all around and my best to your mom. ♥
Darn! Can't get rid of that cone. :(
ReplyDeleteWe know you think your mom is mean, but she really just loves you enough to make sure you don't hurt yourself, Misty. It's no fun but if you leave it alone it should be closed in a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteYou're being the purrfect Mom and protecting her, she'll be much happier when it heals. We love you sweet Misty!
ReplyDeleteListen to your mom, Misty. You want to lose that cone forever and you're right on the verge!
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteYeah, Misty. just think short term pain for long term gain! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
That's too bad Misty, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
ReplyDeleteMisty, I totally get why you are pouting but Gail says you should remember that Mean Mom is really being Kind Mom, and as always doing her very best for you.
ReplyDeleteToodle-oo!
Nobby.
we hope n two days efurrything is closed and you can enjoy da freedom sweet misty....
ReplyDeleteSorry Misty, but I agree with your mom. It is better to be safe than sorry and ending up with the cone for a lot longer.
ReplyDeleteso sorry dear Misty, cones are a misery to wear for you and for your sibings and mom. hope it comes off soon. don't be too sad, you don't want to open that up and have to wear the cone longer OR go back to the vet. hang in there guys, this too shall pass and I hope is will be fast
ReplyDeleteKathie tough love is for sure needed here. Misty darling I wish you weren't so insistent on getting rid of all the vet smells on your Woo-tush
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
Better safe than sorry. Chimera managed to rip her spay stitches out and had to go back. MOL she managed to do it with a cone on too. So we think it's better to be cautious than take the cone off to soon.
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Such a persistent cone! Stick it out for a few more days, Misty ― you don't want to do anything that will make you have to wear the cone for even longer!"
ReplyDeleteSorry Misty, mom is right. You don't want to have to start your whole cone period over again because of vigorous cleaning. Hugs mom.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be cautious, because pups (Rosie) can do a lot of damage in a short period of time! She wore her donut of shame for weeks!
ReplyDeleteBetter safe than sorry.
