Here's looking at you, and if you are the Momster, it is through very clear and crisp vision, at least in one eye.
Oh, Happy Day!!!
Yes, Mom came home yesterday afternoon. She is very happy to report that her first surgery for cataract removal went perfectly. It took about four hours for the dilation and numbing drops to wear off before she could really check her vision. She says she doesn't ever remember seeing so clearly. That is for distance. She can't read anything without wearing a pair of cheap readers, and they give her a headache. But she had her recheck this afternoon and the report was excellent. She only has to wear a patch when sleeping at night and she has no drops to do. She received an injection at the end of the surgery that is a combination of an antibiotic and steroid with long lasting effects. That is why she doesn't have to do any drops, except for some lubricating drops if she feels the need. The doctor will fix the reading issue next Wednesday when she has the second surgery. So all is good. Thanks for all the good thoughts for her.
Only one problem - we still don't know where the Cats are:)
If we don't get around to your blogs, please excuse us. Mom needs to pace herself.

ReplyDeleteYAY for Momster...a few days after Bryan had his surgery in 2018...he said I really like the paint color we selected for the bedroom and master bath...I said WHAT....well it seems in 2018 after it was pianted the color was not what he expected it to be. However after the CAT aract surgery he saw it clearly

Lulu: "We are glad your Mom is doing well! Our Dada got checked for one of those cataract things not long ago, too, but they said it wasn't bad enough to do anything about it yet, so he still has it. But when you look at him there's no evidence of it. Not even a toe bean or a whisker in sight."
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Well you know we cats are good at making ourselves invisible."
Oona: "Especially ninja cats like Oona!"
Wahoo for first surgery success...we are sending POTP the next eye, and reading issues clear up with the next surgery!

I am glad all went well. Even though it is 4 months since Ivor's second surgery, he still stands at the window every morning looking out across the fields.
ReplyDeleteGreat news with the surgery! Our Mom's sisters have all had it done and they love being able to see so clearly....our mom is jealous cuz she has to still wear glasses because she does NOT have cataracts!
