Remembering a Special Angel

Today, thanks to the kindness of Ann of Zoolatry, we are honoring the Angels of 2024.  For far too many of us, 2024 brought sadness and loss as we had to bid farewell to very beloved pets.   We bow our heads today in honor of ALL those bright stars in the heavens who filled our hearts with so much love.  We also send big hugs and heartfelt thoughts to the many among us who remember the good days with joy and lament the losses with sadness.

For us, we were blessed to share our days for just short of 13 years with the gentlest giant and sweetest boy we ever knew - dear Lightning.  Lightning had a tender soul.  He was very timid as a youngster, but as he aged, he became more confident and willing to interact lovingly with others.  He loved to see our human sisters and brother and their families when they visited, especially the grands when they were little.  He loved his pack as he spent part of his life with Angel Phantom, Angel Thunder, Angel Ciara, Misty, and Timber.  He was especially close to Timber who grieved for months after his passing.  His last few years were not without difficulty as he battled through two torn CCLs and a few medical issues.  His last few months were very hard on him, but he never complained.  He left us suddenly on April 10, 2024, just a few weeks short of his 13th birthday which would have been on May 4th.  Our hearts are still broken, but today we honor his memory with a few photos of his time with us.

Young Lightning loved to stretch out those long legs - a precursor of how tall he would be.  He truly did become a BIG BOY.

He always aimed to please and was always willing to pose for that darn flashy beast and Mom.

A true Siberian Husky, he did love his snow.

He loved his sister and she loved him too.

His best bud Timber was always at the ready to comfort him, and Lightning was always so tolerant of his frisky little brother.

The pack spent a lot of time together outside and inside.  They always got along so very well.  A lot of that was due to his patience and tolerance of the silly youngsters.

The Three Husketeers.

Loved forever and always.

Woos - Misty, Timber, and Mom
