If you saw the national news the past two and a half days, then you probably know that the Kansas City area got hit with a blizzard!!! That would be US!!! Overland Park, Kansas, just outside of KC, MO, got 11.5 inches of glorious fluffy white crystallized SNOW!!! The roads are still very bad and we even got an emergency alert for people to stay off the roads completely.
We had a very tough time Saturday night and early Sunday morning as our only route to our kingdom in the backyard is via the deck. It was coated with the slickest of ice. Timber more or less made it down the seven steps in two leaping bounds, but poor Misty slid/fell all the way down. After that one event, she refused to go down again - until the snow fell. She didn't get hurt, but it was really scary for Mom. Mom and ice do not match up very well, so she doesn't go outside for fear of falling. We don't want her to break any more bones.
We hope you thought this was an Awww moment - it has been so long since we have had a real snowstorm. Let's join the Awww Mondays Blog Hop sponsored by Comedy Plus.
Yikes on all that snow. I can see you're happy in the snow though. Most pups love snow. Enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeleteMom did a beautiful butterfly. Wow. I want one.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to their mom. ♥
Wow! That was us last month with lake effect snow. Ice is scary. So glad you two are having a good time in the snow! Hope Misty is OK and didn't get too hurt. Enjoy all that white fluff!
ReplyDeleteWe're jealous of all your snow. Around here they were promising up to 12" of snow this weekend (from lake effect, not your storm), but we only got a couple of inches. Slipping on the ice is no fun but we're glad you got some snow to cover it and make getting out to the yard easier.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the bad weather. Your mom is so talented. That is beautiful. XO
ReplyDeleteIce is very scary! Enjoy that snow :)
ReplyDeleteHi hi hi! Ojo here! SNOW! Snow, snow, glorious SNOW!!!! Hurray! Sorry to hear about the slip-n-slide. I hope you get to keep enjoying your snow!
ReplyDeleteDang sweeties, that's way too much snow but it is kind of pretty. Speaking of pretty, that butterfly your Mom did is pretty and stunning!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you got some snow, but not that ice! I know you pups love snow, even though your mom doesn't. She is right to be very careful about not falling! That puzzle is beautiful and perfect for the weather you are having. ❤️
ReplyDeleteEach time NBC/MSNBC shows the weather news, we think of you - you surely have had epic 'fun' - although Jim Cantore did get to have fun with a lucky dog -
ReplyDeleteAnd that puzzle - WOW!!!!
H&K&W
Willow with a mere 3" here in PA today

ReplyDeleteI nearly went for a skate the other day. Not intentional, I add! Treacherous ice. I do envy you that lovely stretch of snow, though. Just for a couple of days... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Glad you have your snow to wallow in, but also glad it is not here. The puzzle your mom has completed is beautiful, and I would think very difficult.
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy that you got your beautiful snow but we wouldn't be happy about the ice either. Ice is NOT nice and I"m sorry that you fell, Misty. With the frigid temps that you're getting, will the ice ever melt?!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Misty is ok and not harmed falling down the steps. I can feel your joy, Misty and Timber and now I know there is not one drop of snow blood in mine and Beaus genetics. we both dislike cold and our cold today is 42, we prefer 50 and above. and I have never been in single digits in my lifetime. or 11 inches of snow... glad you are all safe and sound and hope this doesn't last much longer. from the weather map on my screen it looks like their are many states suffering the same thing you have. all states in USA have had crazy eventful storms, just different ones, your is closing damage like our hurricanes only ours is wind and water
ReplyDeleteI thing this puzzle is the ultimate of all puzzles and is stunning and I would love to have it ON MY WALL.Wow
Oh, happy snow! I'm glad you two are enjoying the cold. As for the puzzle, it's amazing.
