Remember all that beautiful snow Mother Nature brought us.
Isn't it just so pretty?
So FINALLY yesterday and today we saw temps above freezing, and today almost got to 50 degrees F. So we convinced the Momster that we could take her for a couple of walks since we haven't done that since the ice storm on January 4th followed by the big blizzard followed by another 4 inches of that glorious snow that we love.
And then THIS happened:
Why are you stopping, Mom? We just have to get over this little mound of snow that the plow left along the way.
NO????? So what if that sidewalk isn't cleared? And it isn't like a big mountain. If I can do it, you can too. That's not fair, Mom. I don't want to go home yet. Can't we walk in the road?
OK, how about this one, I know you can do it, Mom. Just put one foot in front of the other. And then this sidewalk is cleared.
Sheesh, she shot me down again.
And then another roadblock!!! Mom, you are going to have to bring some ski poles along the next time.
I guess I won't complain too much. Misty and I did get two days of walks, although shorter and mainly in the road where we can't get at any good sniffs or peemail. And the bitter cold returns tomorrow along with another no-walk phase.
Woos - Timber (and Misty)
We didn't get there on time to join but let's hop along the Nature Friday Blog Hop sponsored by our good friends Sunny and Rosy at The LLB Life.
Those 50 degree temps can melt the snow pretty quickly and make a real mess. We have bitter temps returning too but not until early next week. Love your new winter blog header!
ReplyDeleteWe think your mom need to wear proper footwear (tall boots) so she can just plow through that little mound of snow and keep walking you. Stay warm this week. We're expecting super cold temps here too this week.

ReplyDeleteJust being out and about in the fresh air is a good thing - albeit briefer than you are used to. Yay for milder temps! hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
What a bummer!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your walks, but your mom was right. She shouldn't take chances. Trust me!
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you got to go for a walk.
ReplyDeleteThose temperatures will soon be distant memories here in PA - and The Babblers say 'plowable' is coming Sunday - 3'-6' for our area -
ReplyDeleteWe'll see of course - but the laptop is here - so The GKP will be covered -

PeeEssWoo: We are chuckling at The Momster with ski poles!
Out and about for a while is a darn good thing. I'm glad you had fun walks!
ReplyDeleteOh Honey's...I am sorry things aren't working out the way you'd like it to, BUT soon, it will. Trust your Mim. She knows best.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have a plow around your neck so you can blast right through the snow.
ReplyDeleteAt least you got out for a walk even if it wasn't as long as you hoped for. Believe me, mom always knows best!
ReplyDeleteMama was about to tell you to come to Florida and you can walk every day, but then you would be miserable because of the heat.. at least you have your deck and yard to lay/sit in snow, which is what you were created for...
ReplyDeleteHumans often lack proper appreciation for the wonders of nature!

Your Mom needs to be careful out there in the ice and snow. She could slip and break a leg - and then she wouldn't be able to take you out at all!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same issue happen here. My snow removal company know when the city plow has been round. You'd think the city could coordinate the street plows and the sidewalk plows.
ReplyDeleteYou have to remember your mom only has two feet, and if she slips on them and breaks something, you won't get walks for a long, long time.
