Happy Tuesday to everyone!!! Every day is a good day to be happy.
We are pretty much always happy - good home, tasty treats, walks with Mom, tummy rubs from Dad - what's not to be happy about!!! But today we are happy because Mom is happy. Why is that???
Some of our longtime readers might remember Thing 1 and Thing 2 from WAYYYYY back in 2007.
Jack and Cambrie then!!!
Cambrie and Jack now!!! High school graduates!!!
How did that happen???
Mom isn't happy that they have grown up so fast, but she is happy to finally be done with her big project. There are six grandchildren in our family. Two are in college, and Mom decided to send each of them off to school with a special blanket made by her. Jaden got a Trojan themed one as he headed to the University of Southern California three years ago; he is headed into his senior year majoring in business. And Kaeleigh (sister to Jack and Cambrie) received a royal blue and white one for her years at Creighton University. She has completed two years of undergraduate work and was admitted early to the accelerated Occupational Therapy program from which she will receive a doctoral degree. She finished the first year of that program in May and has two more years to go.
And so now, it is time for the twins to receive their special blankets.
Jack is headed to Baylor University in Texas where he will pursue a degree in business. Hence the green and gold colors
And Cambrie will join her older sister at Creighton University where she is enrolled in the nursing program. She wanted her afghan to be all cream-colored.
Mom has been working on them for months now, and she was so happy when she finished the last one yesterday morning. Two more grands to go, Tyler who is a senior in high school and his brother Brady (a.k.a. here as Brady Bear) who is a sophomore. Mom will be ready to pick up her crochet hook again once the college decisions are made for each of them.
What are you happy about today?

ReplyDeleteWell, Misty and Timber, I think your mum's love will have been buried in all those stitches and when the young 'uns are feeling homesick or just feel a bit out of sorts, they will wrap themselves up and feel much comforted! I couldn't agree more that every day is available for happiness - we just need to remember it's sitting there waiting for us! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Congratulations to the graduates! Great job, too, on the crocheting.
