Remember us???
With a very grateful nod to Ann and June of Zoolatry for their creative work, we are offering you our holiday wishes for a Merry Christmas.
(Sorry to be recycling last year's card.)
We are both doing reasonably well. Timber will be paying a visit to Dr. B. tomorrow for his annual exam. He seems to forget that he is now 8 1/2 years old but acts like he is two. Mom is noticing some stiffness in his bad legs and a bit of discomfort in his front upper legs, maybe shoulders. So we shall see what the good doctor thinks.
Misty continues to deal with all her issues, including another messy burst sebaceous cyst. Dr. B is on the move to try thinking out of the box for a possible way to control her IBD without having to resort to steroids (which she cannot have). The first medication (Apoquel) he tried did nothing for her, positive or negative. Right before Thanksgiving, he gave Mom a prescription for another option, an immunosuppressant med called Azathioprine. He suggested waiting until after Thanskgiving to start it because we had a houseful of company for over a week - and it was very hectic here. This new medication comes with some serious side effects. Misty would have to have her blood tested every 2-4 weeks to monitor her bones. Mom has been reading a lot of reports online and isn't sure she is willing to give it a try, given its multiple common side effects. She is going to talk again to Dr. B. about it tomorrow. Misty reacts in the most negative way to almost every treatment tried. Mom isn't sure it is worth taking the chance.
We got a new tree this year. It is really pretty at night when you can see the lights. Maybe we can get another shot for you to see.
We have missed visiting our friends' blogs and hope you are all doing well. Until the next time . . .
Woos - Misty and Timber
We hope you like our Ussies today. Let's see who else is sharing a Selfie or Ussie on the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop sponsored by The Cat n My Head.

Hello you two beauties! I love seeing you again and I have missed you. Tell Mom I understand how she feels. When a med comes with undesirable side effects it bears heavy thinking on the part of your mom and Dad. I have been there, as Mom to Katie and at her age of 18 I will be there again shortly.
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry you are dealing with all these issues and hope you find solutions soon. We are good. Tigris and Styx
ReplyDeleteGreat to see a post from you and I remember you well. Prayers for vets visits. I know mom takes the very best care of you both.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day and week. My very best to your wonderful mom. ♥
It's a joy to see you! Your ussie is a delight. You're in my heart, even when you can't post too often.

It's good to see you two. My secretary has been very neglectful too, but I'm hoping to get some pictures with my Christmas cards soon. My paws are crossed for whichever way you decide to help Misty with her issues.
ReplyDeleteWe have sure missed you two and I'm so glad you popped in before Christmas. We all send lots of purrs to you both.
ReplyDeleteNice to see a post from you. Glad you are both doing pretty well. XO
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your card, it is rather splendid and very cheerful. I hope you can get your medicines sorted out soon, it must be frustrating for you.
ReplyDeleteSo good to see you! Thank you for providing an update.
ReplyDeleteI have missed you guys. Misty, I hope your good dogter can find all the right answers so you can feel a whole lot better with the New Year. Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you. You two are in my prayers. Enjoy the cold weather
ReplyDeleteSome meds seem to do more harm than good, and we cannot blame your mom for being super cautious. We hope between her and Dr. B that they can come up with good plans for each of you. That is a very lovely Christmas tree, and you two are being very good with not bothering it. Hope Santa takes note. It is nice to see you back on the hop. Thanks for hopping with us! ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to hear from you again. I am sorry Misty is still having so many issues. Flynn was also intolerant to most drugs, so I know how difficult it is. I hope Timber can get something to help with his stiffness. Merry Christmas to all of you.
ReplyDeleteWe have missed you and it was wonderful to hear from you and we hope 2026 is a better year for the two of you. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Misty and Timber!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see you! We were missing you and hoping that nothing bad had happened. With regard to Timber's stiff joints, we thought we would mention something called Movoflex. They are soft chew joint supplements. Our vet recommended them as being the best thing any of her patients had tried and they have worked wonders on me, Ollie. So, you might like to give them a try. They are pricey but really worth trying and we did check to make sure they are available in the US.
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Ollie
We always love seeing your furry moozles! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas with wishes of ways to control Timber's pain and get Misty's IBD safely under control.
ReplyDeletexoxo,
Rosy & Sunny (and big hugs from Beth)

Lulu: "Oh we never forget you two! We are glad to hear the update! I am going to be turning ten tomorrow, Timber, and I forget about it too sometimes."
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "All the time, you mean."
Lulu: "I blame Bean. He is a young whippersnapper."
Java Bean: "Hey Lulu! Let's go play chase and wrestle!"
Lulu: "See?"
Chaplin: "We cats send lots of purrs your way for the doctor to figure out a treatment that will work for Misty."
Java Bean: "And we dogs send lots of tail wags!"
So glad to hear from you! So sorry to hear about Misty's issues, prayers that something will work. And poor Timber. We know what it is like having trouble getting up and down. It really sucks getting old. lol Take care of yourselves. We love you. Patty and Chevy. ♥
ReplyDeleteWe think the tree looks really pretty in the day time too. Hope you can find something for Misty that works without any scary side effects and we hope that Timber gets a good report when he goes for his checkup.
ReplyDeleteSorry about Misty's cyst. Teddy has two interdigital cysts. He's had one of them since last Christmas. He did six rounds of antibiotics but the cysts keep coming back. I'll take Teddy back to our vet in the New Year as Teddy also has a heart murmur and I think it's starting to slow him down.
ReplyDeleteSo good to see you! I know you've been through it, and poor Misty, so sorry about what she is going through. I hope they will find something that will work for her and not upset her. You tree pic is gorgeous with them... xo
