My blue eyes will be twinkling and sparkling again in no time. And now here is the update on my morning visit. When Mom checked my eye early today, she thought it was looking much better but decided that we would still check with the vet. When she called, they thought it was a good idea to have me come in so they could see what was going on.
So here I am waiting for the big exam. Photos aren't too great because Mom had to use her phone camera.
Mom, are you sure you want to keep waiting? You could just turn the doorknob and we could both beat it out of here.
So then the door opens and the nice doctor and his assistant came in. First he sat down on the floor and talked to me and petted me. I decided he was a nice guy even if he wasn't my regular vet. He looked at my eye, then checked it with a flashlight and a funny gizmo that let him see things very well.
Mom didn't take any pics of him working on me because she didn't want to disturb him. The next thing he did was to put a funny dye in my eye to see if there were any corneal ulcers or scratches on my eye. Thankfully, my eye is doing just fine, no problems with the cornea. He thinks I got bit by some mean insect in a couple of spots. He said it isn't due to allergies and doesn't think it is a scratch.
Now this next part wasn't much fun. I got a SHOT - right in my neck. The nice vet said it was to help bring down all the inflammation in my eye.
AND I have this little tube of ointment that Mom has to put in my eye three times a day for a week. Guess she got off lucky, Thundering Herd - only three times a day and the ointment is supposed to be easier to do than drops. We'll see when she gives it a try this afternoon.
See how much better it is looking. Thanks to all of you for your good wishes and concern.
Aaaahhhh, the best part of my day! When I got home, I got to have a special treat. Here I am waiting patiently for my yummy salmon skin.
Hey, wait a minute - why does SHE get one too?

That looks like the exact same ointment that Sarge had for his eye condition. And the VET (SHIVER) said the same thingy.. easier to get in and make stay there. Wowie I am surely glad that you are better Already!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't like insects either. I don't see any good they do in this world and always cause a pup some trouble.
ReplyDeleteJust use your ointment and get it well fast, TD!
Kisses,
Stella
So glad to hear you are doing better. My sister Jada had to have ointment and her eye after she had surgery on her head. She couldn't blink very well. Hopefully the week will go fast. ReplyDeleteOh Thunder - I'm so sorry I'm late with the good wishes for your eye but I'm glad to hear that it is nothing serious!! It did look very sore from the pictures in your last post - I hope it is not giving you big ouchies - and that the medicine makes you feel better again soon.

ReplyDeleteSending lots of licks and sniffs,
Zack, Sassy and Buddy
Rusty is most disappointed that you don't get the joy of trying to get a tiny drop of liquid to fall through the air and land in the open eye of a squirming Sibe. Let's just say Survivor should consider it as a contest.
ReplyDeleteBut so glad that all is well.
P.S. - Little sisters. What can you say?
That is good news Thunder! The ointment will make it feel better too.
ReplyDeleteYour pal,
Wyatt
Thank goodness! The eye stuff is tough. Calhoun had entropion stuff including drops and ointment. AHHH! Tough stuff!

My assistant was putting drops in one of my eyes last week... after about 4 days I decided I had had enough and wouldn't let her come near me. Hah! Worked like a charm. She just gave up after awhile.
ReplyDeleteOh, sweetie, your lovely blue eyes just MUST keep on shining! Make sure that you are a good pooch when your momma puts in your medicine and remember, it's nice to share so, yes, everyone should get a cookie☺
ReplyDeleteShe gets one for being cute. Just like Trixie.
ReplyDeleteGlad that the eye problem is an easy fix. I would hate those beautiful baby blues to not be right. In MY house, I would demand MY special treat and then a second one because everyone was getting a regular--not a special--treat. Yum! Salmon skin is the stinky best!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that it's nothing serious, Thunder! Hope you're fully recovered soon!

ReplyDeleteMAXMOM IN SA
What great news! I'm glad your eye is getting better!! I wonder what you thought of the ointment. My mom felt like the drops were easier than ointment. She's weird.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Mr. Blue Eyes! Those pesky bugs... grr...
Wags,
Zona
Thunder,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that it's nothing too serious, no ulcers or scratches. Now, you get better (and be nice to your very cute sister)!
Be nice to your mom when she puts that ointment in your eye! We used to have to put drops in our lab's eye every hour for more than a year. She lost the ability to make tears... and so she loved the drops (and cooperated fully, like you should do :), which we continued until the end of her life.
Sorry about your eye trouble. Hope it heals up fast!! Love all the pics :)
ReplyDeleteGood news Thunder.
ReplyDeleteLove Ruby & Penny
Glad to hear you are better.
ReplyDeleteWags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo
Glad you are better! Your blue eyes are so handsome!
ReplyDeleteExcellent news, TD!
ReplyDeleteAs for a certain somebody being there for a treat too, we feel she would get on very well with Bibi-Chan who has the same attitude to life (and treats).
So Glad your eye is getting better!! Even when we don't like medicine, it is good for us :)
ReplyDeleteArtemisia, will come capture the bad bugs for you and eat them. She is good at that. Paws crossed your eye is better soon. Why does she get a treat? Did she go to the vet too.
ReplyDeleteHey TD!! I'm sorry about your eye, but glad it isn't anything serious! I sure hope it starts to feel better real soon!!

True that! Dude, why is she getting treats? Did she get a shot in the neck??? Good news, furiend. Allergies are forever, this you can get over. Lots of licks to make you feel better.
ReplyDeleteBTW did you know your family came by and A. Left you back home instead of bringing you to visit me, and B. they were close enough to touch, ehem, almost, but were too busy for lil' me? Go get 'em.
