We've been waiting all afternoon for Phantom to come home.
But the vet wants him to stay overnight. He had some bleeding this afternoon from his incision and they want to keep an eye on it. Most likely Mom will be able to pick him up in the morning. We are all disappointed but it is better for him to be where he can get the best care.

ReplyDeleteLuv,
Cloud and his mom
Thunder and Ciara look lonely. Hurry home, Phantom!
ReplyDeleteThey probably know that mom and dad seeing even a little blood would make them feel bad, so it's good that Phantom stays for the night. It's scary for mom and dad to see him this way.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates. So glad to know Phantom's surgery is over and he is starting his recuperation. We hope he will be home tomorrow. YOu must really miss him.
ReplyDeleteWe are sads that he won't be home in the loving paws of his fambly but the dog-tor knows best. That gives you more time to shop for lotsa' treats and oodles of toys for his return home☺
ReplyDeletethankies for the updates, thunder and miss ciara! i'm sad, too, that phantom doesn't get to come home today, but it's prolly better so he has all the vet peeps very near by just in case. me and asa and mama are so so glad that phantom did well during the surgery and that it's over!!

loves and licks to our brave friends look after your momma ok!!
ReplyDeleteCiara and Thunder, I gotta tell you that this staying over night is MUCH worse for You Two than it is for Phantom. If he was home... he would be trying to move around and make YOU feel better... This way he will do nothing butt REST.
ReplyDeleteI KNOW he will be home tomorrow. I won't be able to do blogs for a few days... Soooooo will you please... give each other some nice sniffs and snuggles for me. I'll come back as soon as I can. Take care of yourselves ... and the big guy.. when he gets home tomorrow.
Thunder and Ciara sure look sad that their brother did not come home today! I hope beautiful Phantom can leave the vet tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI know he will have so much TLC when he gets home that he will recover from the surgery in no time :-)
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Phantom can't come home yet but I agree - it is best to stay where he will get the necessary care for his condition! I am thinking of him and sending lots of healing slobbers - and hope he will be back home with you all soon.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
We sure hope Phantom has a good night and is all ready to come home in the morning! I'll bet he's really thankful to the two of you for your thoughtful actions, too! We've had our paws crossed for him all day!
ReplyDeleteBunny
Yes, we missed the earlier update, but went and read it, ssssooooo..
ReplyDeletewe are glad that the surgery went well, but sad that Phantom could not come home to spend the night with y'all.
We know that you will take good care of him when he comes back tomorrow, and we think it is really sweet to give up some furs for his owie.
But, um, will they match?
gussie
Thanks for the update. All paws at our house are crossed that Phantom is home soon!
ReplyDeletePaws are crossed for Phantom.
ReplyDeletewoof - Tucker
We just saw both updates now - we are sending lots of Purrs and prayers for Phantom. We are glad the surgery went ok, and we think it is a good thing he is staying at the vets if he was bleeding a little, because they can keep a good eye on him. And also it is probably a lot more likely he will get some good rest without having all the activity from the rest of you (not that you would be doing it to be mean or anything - it is the same way here when the kitties are sick - they get a better rest at the vets at first). This way when Phantom comes home tomorrow he will be feeling better and hopefully won't have any more bleeding. We are crossing our paws and fingers that he heals up very quickly!!
ReplyDeletewe're happy that Phantom came through his surgery okay, but we know everyone will feel more relieved when he is at home where he belongs. our pack is never quite right when one of us is absent & we bet it is the same way with you too.
ReplyDeletewoofs.
Woof! Woof! It's probably better for Phantom to stay overnight. Looking forward on seeing him tomorrow. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteJust able to read your updates, butt I have been thinking of dear Phantom. It sounds like he is doing well. I know you were ready for him to come home today...butt he is in good hands.
ReplyDeleteKeeping paws crossed and thoughts with you!
What a disappointment! I realize in the long run it's probably for the best and that he'll be getting more rest this way but I also know that you just want him home with you.
ReplyDeleteHope you can get him first thing in the morning and that he'll heal up nicely.
Thunder and Ciara look lonely without him.
Thanks for the update! We are keeping all paws crossed here in Nh that Phantom getting better quickly and can come home in the Morning.
ReplyDeleteHi Thunder and Ciara!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, we're keeping our fingers and paws crossed!!
Well wishes for Phantom!
Cheers,
Maxx
Just landed and read both updates - so cool of you, TD and Ciara, for making sure Phantom feels loved by you guys when he gets home. That's a lot of news; you are so smart, Mom, to figure the report will take longer. We are sending more golden vibes and keeping crossed paws and fingers for our dear friend, Phantom. Will we be blitzed by your teefies? We loves you all xoxoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sammie, Avalon, Oz and Ma and Dad
Phantom will be doing great at the Vets. Can't wait to see his pearly whites (:
ReplyDeleteWe are still crossing paws for a great outcome! We love woo Phantom!!! Thanks to TD and Ciara for the update!
ReplyDeleteMBB
I know your miss him a lot!
ReplyDeleteBut yes, it is better he stays at the Vet so they can keep an eye on him!
Take care
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
I'm so glad Phantom's surgery went well!!
ReplyDeleteIt will be best for Phantom to be under the hospital's watch on the first night. Then you will know he's getting very careful attention all night long. Be patient...your brother will be home soon ;)
I'm happy to hear that the surgery went well. He is in good hands tonight and will be feeling more like himself tomorrow after the anesthesia wears off. It will probably be easier on all of you for him to wait til tomorrow to come home. Mom says it is hard for her to see me on the day I've been under. I'd guess that OP mom would have been up most of the night checking on him anyway......
ReplyDeleteI am keeping my paws crossed for a great path report and MOm is sending lots of hugs.
Snuggles,
Twix
For those of you dogs who have cones, please wear them tomorrow in support of Phantom. I know he liked it when we all wore Tee shirts for him!
ReplyDeleteCones for all!
Kisses,
Stella
We can understand your disappointment but it probably is best he stays where they can watch him and make sure he is going to be okay before coming home with his furblings. We hope the night goes by fast so you can see him in the morning! We're sending purrayers and positive thoughts and our mom is sending hugs for all of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on dear Phantom. I was thinking about him all day today. I am glad he will be home tomorrow, but I am sure you all miss him so much!!
ReplyDeleteI would happily wear a cone in Phantom's honor if I had one!
Your pal, Pip
