Ciara reporting in today - it is going to be a hot day in OP today - close to 95 degrees F. Way too early for it to be that warm.
This is what Phantom does when he goes outside in the heat. Just flops down in a sunspot. Mom has to make him come inside. He really likes the sun, but we really shouldn't stay out in this kind of heat.
Thunder totally agrees and is trying to tell Mom to come open the door so he can go into the cool air.
Early morning shot of me checking out the compound. No-sibe zone barrier still intact and unbreached.
Taking a little rest near the condo/playset in the shade while I wait for the Momster to finish her photoshoot.
Here - let me show you her latest attempt to reinforce the no-sibe zones. Rocks so we can't (????) dig for the bunnies under the playset.
Taking a break on the deck. Yep, flowers still IN the pot, and untouched by inquiring sibes.
Time for a morning snooze - don't you love that stretched-out form with a little added touch of crossed paws?
It was a little too warm on that carpet. I decided to try out my hideaway in the kitchen.
Still searching for that perfect spot. I was hoping the piano bar would open soon.
Ahhh - FINALLY - the perfect spot for a cool snooze.
Woos, Ciara
It rained here, all day, yesterday and really cooled things down! It's hotter in Kansas then in Arizona, even down south!
ReplyDeleteStumpy and Phantom both like to bake way beyond what's good for them. I often wonder if Stumpy fried her brain!
Hi Ciara. Beautiful pictures of you all! Glad you found a great spot for your snooze! Have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteKeep cool,
Thor and Jack
95 Degrees is way to hot. We suggest snoozing the day away.
ReplyDeleteLove Ruby & Penny
hi Ciara! Wow, that is way too hot - we are going to be in the 80s and we thougth that was bad - but 95 sounds awful! We are glad that you are all able to find ways to keep cool! We love the pics and are very impressed that you haven't bothered any of the plants so far!!
ReplyDeleteits been in the 90s in LA and Big Carl STILL wants to sleep under blankets at night
ReplyDeleteKari

Yep...gonna be in da middle 90's here too. I wishes we had a cool spot on da floor like yours, Ciara. Our cold air comes from da ceilings. :o(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of everyone!! 95 degrees is just way too hot for this time of the year! Sleeping next to the vents is the best place to be! Lots of love, Holly & Mom
ReplyDeleteNeither of my JRTs have EVER been too hot. It's ridiculous, and requires me to enforce warm-weather rules to protect them.
ReplyDeleteThe bassets have no use for heat, although Sissy does love to sun-bathe.
Where we live, we have hot weather the whole year round but these couple of days is especially HOT! We stayed under the fan and lie on the cold tile floor. Glad you found that perfect spot for a cool snooze, Ciara.
ReplyDelete95???? Sounds like you are in Mexico with Lorenza? BOL Way too HOT for any living thing as far as I am concerned!
ReplyDeleteStay cool!
woo woos, Tessa
Tsar agrees, it's too hot to go out. He lets those crazy Porties run in and out. He'll nap till it cools off later.
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Tsar and the Porties
I love sleeping in the sun but I can understand how you sibes might think it's too hot! Marley is panting like it's 120 here and we are far, far from your 95! Great pictures. My mom is envious of your nice clean house... We could never have such pretty carpet in my dawg house. We actually have no carpet any more. I guess we're slobs... Oh well! Enjoy your beautiful HOT day!
ReplyDeletePedro
Woo, Ciara, woo are being awfully good bout the yard rules… or are woo just luring your mom into a false sense of security???
ReplyDeleteLooks like woo finally found the perfect spot alright - sidled up next to the cold air vent!
Kinda weird that woo are having such high heat already, isn't it?
jack & moo
HOT!! Try and stay cool, we prefer the nice cool wood floors!
ReplyDeleteYou all look so chilled out, its been hot over here but we have had some bad rain showers just enough to freshen it up.
ReplyDeleteSee Yea George xxx
Wish you could send some of that heat over here! It's been chilly the last several days. Yesterday was so windy that I was afraid to let the chi's out on their own for fear they'd blow away! lol
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when she'd get to the air conditioner vent! Speedbump goes straight to the vents and covers the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteGood for you with your flowers still in the pot!!!
Did you say bar?????
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I can't believes how hot it is theres! It's purty hot heres too and then our fabulous humidity...NOT!
I can't believes all da precautions da momster has taken to Sibe -proof everything...hehehe!
Puddles
That is one pawesome group of pikhs!!!

Ciara, glad you found the perfect spot for a cool snooze! That's pretty hot in Kansas already. It's sunny and 65 here today so come on over!
ReplyDeleteCiara, we don't think you fit in the kitchen hide out anymore...love those Sibe photos. Can't believe Phantom wants to be in the sun when it's hot!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Ouch thats warm to be outside especialy with all the fur. Glad you managed to find a cool spot for a snooze.. Hugs GJ x
ReplyDeleteCiara, that is HOT weather! Even on the hottest day here we would never get a day that hot!
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a cool place to rest!

Clive and Murray
OMD! That be too hawt and I swear I woz not responsibull. Efurry time I go to Furginia they has heat waves and it gets hawter then it should but I swear I hasn't been anywhere near your howse!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty cool here, only 65 degrees, luckily no hot weather here yet!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
YIKES! 95 degrees is too hot too soon! It's going to make the pretty spring flowers wilt too soon!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
I passed along your question to my asst. - she handles the weather related inquiries because frankly, I usually just don't care that much. Her reply was (and I quote)
ReplyDelete"What the hell, Archie?"
I don't know who Archie is or what hell has to do with any of this, but there you have it. (She probably needs some professional help.)
Good luck staying cool.
It's 6degC here today. Come on over and play!
ReplyDeletelooks hot :-)
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather... it went from Snow one day to Melting HOT the next. THAT was a HOT Morning fur you.
ReplyDeleteI am lovin how busy you keep your mom. The Rocks must have kept her workin fur like 87 hours. hehehe
Yep, Kiva likes the sun, too. But when she starts smelling like a medium-rare roast beast, it's time to come in. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have been pretty warm today too! The Newfs have decided the are camping out in the basement until winter:)
ReplyDeleteI love your crossed paws Ciara!
It was warmer at your house than it was at ours!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
The hot days this time of year are the worst! At our house dad still hasn't hooked up the swamp cooler but momma is an expert at opening windows and turning on celing fans in the early day and then shutting them and closing the blinds as the heat tries to sneak in. AND we have the sunporch (which is shady until almost 6pm)!
ReplyDeleteHoping that Phantom is continuing his Mother's Day Present of good health. Ciara, maybe you should consider a middle name of "Goldilocks!"
Wow! That hot already?
ReplyDeleteStay cool!
Hugs,
Hi, Ciara!
ReplyDeleteSure it is hot there!
Glad you found the perfect cool spot!
Here we have been having 110 degrees... and the weatherman says it is going to be worse! Yuck!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Geesh,... didn't P get the memo? Everyone knows that Sibes live in the house-- where there's AIR conditioning!
ReplyDeleteI don't see a tip jar on that bar!
and finally, i have hopes yet that there will be something very soon dug up.
and for your mom from me: have you tried buring wire underneath where they dig? like fencing wire (not sharp wire)... so they can't really dig. it works wonders for Juno... it's like having a fence extend in the ground! and you can't see it!
All these high temps! We have trouble staying in the 60s, and it IS Ok with us, because we don't like it too hot.
ReplyDeleteWe went for a long walk this morning, and it was cool and breezy.
Kisses,
Stella
Hi Ciara and pack!!
ReplyDeleteYup! Crazy weather here too..:(
We're all practically melting...it was v hot yesterday and rained for a bit in the afternoon but then it gets super humid and the sun shined at it's brightest, till about 7 plus in the evening.
Glad you found your cooling spot. Happy to see Phantom having a great time lounging in the grass. Hope he stays well and gets better and better!
As for TD, looking good and alert as always!!
Enjoy your day and stay cool!!
Cheers,
Maxx
miss ciara,
ReplyDeleteyou know phantom and my big sis asa are just the same! asa likes to snooze on the deck in the sunshineys no matter how hot it gets, and mama has to make her come inside. asa always gives mama the hairy eyeball. heehee!
good job leavin' your momster's flowers alone! i know how tempting they are!
so did you get the really good A/C vent that blows out the mega cold airs?
*woof*
the booker man
Oh, that it way, way hot, especially for floofy doggies such as yourselves. Shar Pei don't do heat well either, except that a sunbath can be nice - if it's a dry heat, which it never is, really, here. I hope you can stay cool and comfy and also that it cools off a little bit for you. Way too early for those temps.
ReplyDeleteOh, it was beastly hot here, too! Ciara, you get a 10 for napping form and style!
ReplyDeletePhantom, I was supposed to let you know that Lilac popped the end off her muzzle today and promptly removed the vet wrap from her leg. She says that she's willing to move forward with plans for world domination whenever you are!
Bunny
95!!!! OMD, that's my worst nightmare. I hope that heat is not headed our way.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Phantom! Hey you do what Monty likes to do! Lay in the hot hot sun on the hottest of days!
ReplyDeleteCiara! Don't you like flowers anymore?
oh my gosh,,, how can it be that hot?
ReplyDeletewe almost made it to 70 today and blue sky,,yeaaaaaaaaaaa
rain tomorrow,, (maybe)
beautious photos of all the furry faces,,, relaxing and looking for cool places to relax.

tweedles
ahhh.. thank dogness the cool zone is doesn't have a no-sibe barrier. geeesh..
ReplyDeletejust sayin.
tula
oh tell phantom- don't forget to flip ovah sometimes. have to cook evenly on BOTH sides.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't fans of the heat either - I hide under a chair and Paddy hides in the living room!
ReplyDeleteHope it rains soon and cools you guys off!
Licks
Sally and Paddy
It's way too hot already here too! We heard a rumor it will be a bit cooler next week. Sure hope so. For us and for you.
ReplyDeleteHi Thunder, Phantom & Ciara!
ReplyDeleteSorry for not viusiting for a while - am behind with blog friends and only just catching up!
I know I saw this everyt year but it IS so weird to see you guys getting warmer weather just as we are going into autumn & winter! Oooh...wouldn't I love a sunspot to lie in right now...?!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
With all the fur sibes have, I can't imagine them feeling good in any temperatures above 75 degrees! Ava prefers to stay inside most of the day and sprawl out in front of her favorite fan to get cool.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I have to say that I love the anti-sibe barrier - and that its working! Every time I barricade something from Ava, she seems to think I've gone out of my way to make it more fun to play around =]
Stay cool, my furry friends! 95, wow! We have a Sibe who loves the sunspots too like Phantom and we have to move her! Ciara, we have to post some video you'll be proud of, the FiveSibes nosing around in our newly-laid mulch!!! I hope it cools off for you all, very SOON!
ReplyDeletew00fs, wow that was hot...u finally found the bestest place to rest...
ReplyDeleteb safe,
rocky
Ciara, looks like your mom has finally out smarted the sibes with all the rocks and fences. She is taking away all your fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. We like to sleep by the vents as well.
I haven't blogged for a long time so it was great to see all your pictures. Some made me yawn.
ReplyDeleteHope Phantom's tummy is better. Arrow had that problem and had that food. Then we got Nature's Best which has no wheat, corn, etc. Now we use Solid Gold. And only treats like Zukes-- things without wheat or corn.
