Squirrel-y Saturday
There is a gigantic nest way up high in this column maple next to our deck. It has been there for a couple of years. I can hear that tree-rat chattering away.
Darn, I wish all those leaves would fall so I could get a better view. It's about that time, isn't it?
Maybe if I close my eyes really tight and make a wish, he will some down from his hidey spot.
Have no fear, Mr. Bushy Tail - I can be VERY patient.
Woos - Lightning
Oh Lightning I feel your frustration and can almost hear those rascals.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine being there on your deck and knowing they are so close but so far away. One thing for sure your presence is known and if they have 1/8 of a brain they will stay clear.
Hugs madi your bfff
PS
should you need me to come climb that tree to flush them out...give me a ring a ling. I'm here for you!
Gotta get those tree rats!
ReplyDeleteStay on his case, Lightning! We hope you nab the evil little so-n-so!
ReplyDeleteStare at him, Lightning! Stare at him like the Siberian that you are!!!!! That'll show him!
ReplyDeleteYours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
He has to come down eventually. Don't give up!

Hey, if you needs some backup, me and my margarita truck can be there in two shakes of a possum tail!
ReplyDeleteKisses,

Those crazy tree rats are everywhere.
ReplyDeleteJust don't feed them like my dad does.

The Khottage's neighborhood has PLENTY of those tasty tree rats - Holly loves to watch 'em and hope -
ReplyDeleteSince we don't have big trees, they don't live 'here' but they do use the bakhkyard as a khommuter route!
We DO have at least THREE bunnies - probably living under the shed!
I'm still not bunny driven but Holly lokhks and looks and even stalks!
Happy Weekend!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
Hehehe don't worry the leaves will soon fall,xx Speedy
ReplyDeleteWe think Mr Bushy Tail will hide IN his nest whenever you try to spy him! Hope he's not laughin' at you.
ReplyDeleteyou have to say the magic spell while closing your eyes Lightning... it is... uuuuh I furgot it... wait a moment I only have to read all 7 Hairy Potter books to find it :o)
ReplyDeleteI bet that you're still out there watching, Lightning! Squirrels are very cunning so be alert!
ReplyDeleteBlast them with a hose! I think the Evil Squirrel Cartel has finally decided that our silver maple tree isn't such a good place for a nest. This summer we had a few feeble attempts to reconstruct upon the wreckage of previous nests, but nothing serious. With me barking, ghostwriter hosing them, and Dad going up there with his long pruning stick, they've given up! Keep up the good work at your place!
ReplyDeleteWe hope he runs right to you!
ReplyDeleteCrazy squirrel time is coming, hehehehe. We can't wait! And you have an excellent vantage point to keep an eye on those crazy critters!
ReplyDeleteKeep wishing and maybe a gust of wind will blow him out of the tree!
ReplyDeleteTry to balance the seat on the railing, then jump on the seat, then off the railing, towards the tree, and you will scare your mom to death
ReplyDeleteWe tend to get a lot of tree rats in my neighborhood. I'm always shocked that my boys don't seem to pay much attention to them unless they're in the yard.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you, Lightning! Good luck with the squirrel. (Just quietly, I think I'm starting to be glad we don't have squirrels in this country...)
ReplyDeleteSorry for not keeping up with you guys lately. I've been MIA too, but without such a good reason. I hope Ciara is still doing better.
Oh Man, they are so quick and sneaky. We have found if you bark it slows down all progress. Humphrey usually falls asleep waiting and they sneak off!! Keep up your guard!! Great to see you!!
ReplyDeleteHang in there Lightning....Fall is beginning to fall an those leaves will be doing the same thing (falling) soon. THEN you'll have an even better view of your tree-rat. Oh boy!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sammy
You can do it, Lightning!!
ReplyDeleteThose evil tree rats torture us too!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
We don't have any of those here but we're hoping the leaves hurry up and fall so we can see birdies!
ReplyDeletePeeS: Yay Chiefs!
