Squirrel-y Saturday

There is a gigantic nest way up high in this column maple next to our deck.  It has been there for a couple of years.  I can hear that tree-rat chattering away.

Darn, I wish all those leaves would fall so I could get a better view.  It's about that time, isn't it?

Maybe if I close my eyes really tight and make a wish, he will some down from his hidey spot.

Have no fear, Mr. Bushy Tail - I can be VERY patient.

Woos - Lightning

  1. Oh Lightning I feel your frustration and can almost hear those rascals.
I cannot imagine being there on your deck and knowing they are so close but so far away. One thing for sure your presence is known and if they have 1/8 of a brain they will stay clear.
    Hugs madi your bfff
    PS
should you need me to come climb that tree to flush them out...give me a ring a ling. I'm here for you!

  9. The Khottage's neighborhood has PLENTY of those tasty tree rats - Holly loves to watch 'em and hope -

Since we don't have big trees, they don't live 'here' but they do use the bakhkyard as a khommuter route!

We DO have at least THREE bunnies - probably living under the shed!

I'm still not bunny driven but Holly lokhks and looks and even stalks!

    Happy Weekend!

  13. I bet that you're still out there watching, Lightning! Squirrels are very cunning so be alert!

  14. Blast them with a hose! I think the Evil Squirrel Cartel has finally decided that our silver maple tree isn't such a good place for a nest. This summer we had a few feeble attempts to reconstruct upon the wreckage of previous nests, but nothing serious. With me barking, ghostwriter hosing them, and Dad going up there with his long pruning stick, they've given up! Keep up the good work at your place!

  17. Try to balance the seat on the railing, then jump on the seat, then off the railing, towards the tree, and you will scare your mom to death

  18. We tend to get a lot of tree rats in my neighborhood. I'm always shocked that my boys don't seem to pay much attention to them unless they're in the yard.

  19. Nice to see you, Lightning! Good luck with the squirrel. (Just quietly, I think I'm starting to be glad we don't have squirrels in this country...)

Sorry for not keeping up with you guys lately. I've been MIA too, but without such a good reason. I hope Ciara is still doing better.

  20. Oh Man, they are so quick and sneaky. We have found if you bark it slows down all progress. Humphrey usually falls asleep waiting and they sneak off!! Keep up your guard!! Great to see you!!
