Wondering Wednesday
Misty and Timber: We are wondering when Lightning can come play with us outside?
Lightning: I am wondering the same thing, but I am also wondering if this lampshade is going to be a permanent part of my body!
Mom: And I am wondering if this nightmare will ever end. It is going to be at least another 5-6 or more weeks before Lightning gets to even be outside off leash and then only under supervision, Misty and Timber. And at least another 8 days before the lampshade comes off, Lightning. But the good news is that today is the first day we are seeing a decrease in the swelling of his leg. His body is finally starting to absorb the fluids. We had some minor serum seeping last night, but the vet said it is OK, just a sign that he needs to take it very easy. I have also been doing a short video of him daily when he walks so we can see the very slow improvement. It is amazing to see how far he has come since Saturday, first day post-op. I will post them later this week.

Poor Lightning! Momma says that you should get some nice tasty frozen Kongs full of peanut butter to work on while the lunatics are playing outside.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, you are going to need the patience of a saint...
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Gail.
Mom is going to be exhausted when this is all over. It's going to have a happy ending though. I can tell because mom is determined to have a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteHave a woof woof day. My best to your hard working mom. ♥
Glad he's coming g along nicely! As ghostwriter always tells her orthopedic rehab patients: you WILL feel better.
ReplyDeleteJust be a good boy and do what the Mom says and then that lampshade will come off before you know it!
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Lightning. We continue to send you lots of AireZen and healing vibes!

ReplyDeleteGlad the leg is not swollen.
ReplyDeleteLightning, it's poopy you have to wear a lampshade but if the peeps say it's for your own good then we guess it is. It's still poopy. Yay for the swelling going down! We hope you get steak for all this! Sending purrs and puppy woofs!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a tough time Lightning but hang in there buddy.
ReplyDeleteI remember that it seemed like Mogan was never going to walk normally again. I wish I'd taken videos because I'm sure she progressed better than it seemed at the time. Noah is going crazy with his plastic hat. It comes off on Friday which can't come too soon.
ReplyDeleteGlad the swelling has gone down.
ReplyDeleteOh Lightning, we are sorry it is going to take so long. I think this might be harder on your mom than you. This too shall pass my friend, although it will be a hard trip. Better days ahead. Sending prayers.
ReplyDeleteWe can only imagine how tought this must be for everypuppy and everyhuman! Hang in there!!
ReplyDeleteContinuing our POTP!

ReplyDeletePoor Lightning! That's a long time. But I'm glad the swelling is going down in his leg. Here's hoping the weeks fly by!
ReplyDeleteGet better soon, Lightning! The lampshade is the worst.....feeling sad for you buddy😕
ReplyDeleteOh Lightning, you are such a lucky boy to have such a great Mom. We know you are both sick of this whole deal but just keep in mind how much fun it is going to be when it is all over. We have all our paws crossed for you Lightning and especially the Mom.
ReplyDeleteDear Woo Gang....nothing is worse than WAITING - I know that for sure! But in this case, it's super duper impawtant that WAITING happen before Lightning gets rid of the lampshade AND is able to play outside. He's doing SO WELL so just keep him company inside and encourage him to keep on resting OK? It's what brothers and sisters do for each other. Being patient is TOUGH but YOU CAN DO IT!
ReplyDeleteLove, Teddy
We are sending some big PUG HUGS to you and your mom Lightning
ReplyDeleteHang in there!
hugs
Hazel & Mabel
