Finally Monday

It has been a wild few days here with all the family for Thanksgiving Day plus a couple more days.  Then the blizzard of November hit us hard.  We only got about 6 inches of glorious snow, but the winds were so strong and the temps were frigid.  It has not been much fun for Mom and Lightning getting out for potty time.  Lightning wants to run in the snow - still a big NO NO, and he wants a grassy spot to take care of business.  They walk and walk and walk some more, but he refuses to go.  Mom said it was tough walking in the dark when you couldn't tell where the street, sidewalk, and grass began and ended.  There were areas with only an inch or two of snow and then all of a sudden, there would be a foot deep drift.  Not easy when you are as OLD as the Momster:(  Today is even worse because once people shoveled their sidewalks, what is left is all ice.  Good thing Mom has her new Yak Trax if she can figure out how to keep her balance wearing them.  BOL.

The tree is standing thanks to our human brother and one of the grands' Dads.  Mom decorated it yesterday.  We guess it is beginning to look a bit like Christmas.  Lightning got to take his cone off for the photo since the cone blocks the bottom of the tree.  Last Tuesday the last piece of scab fell off, but a new one formed right away.  Today that piece ( a much thinner one) came off, but Mom can see that it may scab over again:(  Good thing he sees the surgeon Thursday IF he gets here this time.

We thought we would share a few of the Thanksgiving Day shots of fun for the grands and some of the big peeps.  Hard to believe it was 60 and sunny just four days ago.

Simultaneous games of Mash Ball with three of the boys, Tyler, Jaden, and Jack and dancerella Cambrie, while Kaeleigh refereed.

Oldest grand Kaeleigh and her Aunty Courtney (Mom's youngest daughter)

A game of Spot It with twins Cambrie and Jack (foreground) and brothers Brady and Tyler (back)

And our Six Pack of Grands!!!

Kaeleigh, brother Jack (twin to Cambrie), Tyler and Brady (brothers), Cambrie (sister to Kaeleigh and twin to Jack- WOW - look at that size difference:), and Jaden (our Texas boy). In order of age:  Kaeleigh, Jaden, Jack, Cambrie,Tyler, Brady.  The two oldest are now freshmen in high school (how did THAT happen? and Jaden is already 6'2"!!!!!!), the twins are in sixth grade, Tyler is in fifth grade, and Brady Bear is in third grade. And we LOVE them ALL!!!

Now can we please go out and play in the snow???  Well, at least two of us???

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

Pee Ess - thanks, KB, for the tip about the Yak Trax - they work GREAT!!!

  5. It looks like you all had a great family time together. We wish there were some snow around here. All we've been getting lately is rain and our yard is mud. We are supposed to get some snow in the next few days.

  17. WOW you sure did get some snow but the sunny Thanksgiving kind of took the pain out of the snow just a bit right? What a wonderful bunch of grandkids - handsome and pretty and most of all HAPPY. I bet it was a challenge taking Lightning out in the snow/ice but just tell yourself "IT WON'T BE LONG NOW" before that cone is off and things can get back to the way they were pre-cone.

    Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  20. Oh my stars I missed this yesterday. I came by before it was posted.
I will be consulting GiGi Google about Yak Trax. Sounds like something this
    Senior could use too. LOL
Reading about Lightning's potty reminded me of that crazy mini Dachshund Toto. He hated with a passion getting his feet and under carriage wet and would only potty if he had a golf umbrella over his royal tush. But give him some snow and he went wild.

Woos your Bipeds and humans sister are beautiful and handsome X 87! My goodness they are growing before our eyes. I'm so glad you had good weather for them to get out in during their visit.
    Hugs Cecilia

  21. LOVE the six pack photo with all the grandkids!!! So adorable!

We had some of the snow, too, though not as much as some areas around us because we are near the lake which keeps things warmer. Ruby is pretty much refusing to go out in the snow. LOL.

  23. How wonderful to have everyone together! Those are some big and handsome (beautiful) grands!!!

Poor Lightning. He has not had good luck with this recovery. I sure hope that the surgeon can see him this week. It was wonderful to see him without a cone!
