The Day After the Noisy Night

Misty for the first time was very disturbed by the fireworks.   Thunderstorms have become an issue for her as well.

The only concern the boys had was it was a late night before slumber arrived.  They are snoozing the morning away, and it looks like they almost created a heart with their toe touching.

Hope your Fourth was fun and not too noisy!

  1. I think about all the babies out there when the 4th rolls around. So much noise. I will say there wasn't as much this year as last. We're happy about that.

Have a fabulous and quiet day and weekend. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the pups. ♥

  4. As he's gotten holder, fireworks and thunderstorms have begun to bother Sam. Sadly, last night we experienced both in record decibels. I hope it's over until the next day stupid people decide to shoot them off (probably New Years). Ugh.

  6. OMG I LOVE the toe touching!!! Dakota was pretty upset by them last night too. I pulled the blinds down in the living room and cranked up the TV...that helped...a bit.

  7. We thought we might have an easier time since I can't hear quite like I used to..but, they were setting off super boomer a couple of streets away until late into the night and I was pretty shivery...sigh.

I sure hope things are better soon, Mama is looking like a zombie today after a night with little sleep.

  8. Indeed, a good day for sleeping! I'm glad I'm not afraid of those noisy things. In fact, it's thundering right now, and I'm settling down for a nap too!

  10. Sweet Misty, I'm so sorry you were scared - it's all over now, you can relax and be a happy pup again. The heart shaped napping is soooo cuuuute!

  11. We're sorry to hear Misty isn't liking all the noise lately. We only bark at it but we don't get scared. You can tell those boys love each other.

  12. Is Misty channeling her inner Phantom? Roxy has suddenly become afraid of noises and sudden moves. Strange.

  13. Misty I'm so sorry about the 'stupid' fireworks. I will never understand the fascination with them. So very dangerous. Sending gentle hugs sweetie.

  14. As an owner of a very anxious to the loud sky noises dog, I hope you find something to help Misty and don't get a big hole in your wall.

  15. Bummer for you, Misty. I feel your pain. I heard one very large BOOM last night and climbed into mom's lap for 10 minutes and shook with fear and she hugged me tight. And it got better after than with smaller booms that didn't bother me quite as much.

  16. We understand sweet Misty. We got lucky, it poured rain after 9:30 so the fireworks ended early. They will start up again tonight though.

  19. The boys look adorable with toes touching.....I think we all hate all that noise! Teddy stayed in the basement behind the couch, and hubby and I just waited until things quieted down and slept finally. As a little girl I remember being excited about the 4th - these days I'm just glad when its' over!

    Hugs, Pam

  20. I was so proud of my girls last night. We had storms all day and I hoped it would keep the fireworks down but they started at dusk. My girls were very brave. They rested quietly all evening and went out on leash before bed. I wish it was over but I'm sure there will be more tonight and tomorrow.

  22. OUr fourth was better than some we have had. Mabel barks at the loud noises. Thank goodness they did not go off all night long like they have some years

  23. Lulu: "Poor Misty! Our Fourth had some popping and banging outside, but not too bad."
Charlee: "Lulu says 'not too bad' but I can assure you Dennis would have been a basket case if he were still here."
Chaplin: "I thought it was a good evening, myself. Every time there was a pop outside, we all got treats."
Charlee: "What? I don't remember any treats."
Chaplin: "Guess you shouldn't have fallen asleep in the other room, then."
