Mom says this photo makes her HAPPY!!! Me just hanging with Lightning.
How about this one, Mom? I promise I am still just resting with my two brothers.
Now if you really want to make ME happy -
could I please get out of this headgear???
Woos - Misty (Timber and Lightning too)
Update from Mom: Misty had her first cold laser treatment this morning. The incision looks good but there is some swelling in the leg. The nice lady vet thinks it is just edema from the surgery, but she wants Misty to rest as much as possible. I don't know that there is much more resting for her to do. She is only on her feet for potty breaks and meals. The rest of the time I am on her to lie down. She also wants me to apply warm compresses to the outside of leg, not incision area. I would have thought they would want me to use ice. But they say heat for edema, ice for overexertion.
Misty sure looks happy to be hanging with her brothers. It's sounds like she is doing good on her recovery too.
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see them all together. I know you'll do what needs doing to make sure she heals well. You're a good mom.

ReplyDeleteMisty your pictures with your Wooful brothers makes me happy happy happy.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this horrid heat makes the swelling worse?
I giggled at the 'headgear' term. Favorite Sis of Angel Madi had to wear one when she had braces was a teenager. Many mornings she would awake to find she had tossed that sucker across the room. One time it was on the top of Biggie the Panda's head. We all liked that.

It is lovely to see this happy post from you! That is entering about heat vs. ice. We had no idea. Having had to deal with a big incision and its aftermath over the past few months, #1 feels a lot of empathy for Misty.
ReplyDeleteWoofs,
Ollie
Heat increases blood circulation so maybe that is why the vet wants that rather than cold compress. Is the laser treatment to reduce scar tissue?
ReplyDeleteThey do all look happy together, and it looks like Misty is coping very well.
We feel the happiness too!! Thank you mom for sharing the pics!!
ReplyDeleteStay strong Misty and Lighting and Timber too!! Lots of love and hugs!!
Cheers,
Maxx and mommy

Well some swelling probably is expected after surgery and it sounds like she's being a very good girl relative to resting a lot with her brothers! Let's hope this continues.........YAY MISTY!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy and Mom
Despite the swelling, it really does look good. Here's hoping for loads of rest with her brothers as the swelling comes down. Being home is probably making her recovery that much easier for your girl.
ReplyDeleteThis makes us smile too!!
ReplyDeleteWe are sending everyone big hugs and POTP!
Hopefully you pups will be up and around very soon!
ReplyDeleteWe hope the edema goes down soon. Lots of love, healing purrs and POTP from all of us to Misty and Lightening.
