It's a great day to be happy. Mom let me take a longer walk today, and I was so excited. And why was that? She said we could go visit our donkey pals who live around the corner from our development. I haven't been that far in a very long time. So I was so ready to go.
But wait!!! Now this is a big surprise!!!
Oh my goodness - LOOK!!! It's a rafter of wild turkeys!!! I love turkey!!! But those guys are HUGE - they are way bigger than me. I decided it was probably a good thing there was a fence between them and me.
Well, I didn't get to see my donkey pals, but Mom said maybe they will be out later today when we go for a walk. I sure hope so because it won't be long before I look like this again and won't be able to walk very far:(
If all goes as expected when I see the surgeon on Thursday, I will be having my other knee operated on Friday. I am NOT looking forward to THAT, but Mom keeps saying it won't be long (6-8 weeks) before I can be a REAL Sibe again.

When you get that last surgery done you'll be perfect. I'll be right here with you. I'm so happy your getting out further and I know mom will bring you back to see the donkeys.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to your siblings and a hug to your wonderful mom. ♥
Misty, hang on in there are you'll be able to walk miles and miles in search of donkeys.
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie.
PS This post prompted some bitter sweet memories of Human Grandad. Late in his life when he found most things difficult and confusing, he always enjoyed a walk to see the donkeys in a field near his home and smiled when they came to the fence.

ReplyDeleteMisty, it is a joy to see you out and about - and I know that the sooner than later aspect of your next op is going to lead to more and more such outings! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
It sounds like you had a great walk even if you didn't get to see your donkey friends. We know it won't be fun to get your other surgery but you will be a new girl after it is done and you are all recovered.
ReplyDeleteWe will be keeping fingers and paws crossed and sending you tons of AireZen and POTP, Misty. Maybe it's a good thing that you'll be recovering in the ac of your home and by the time you're ready to head outside for decent walkies again, the weather will be much cooler.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nice walk, but a pity you couldn't see the donkeys. They were probably in the shade somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get your other leg done on Friday. The sooner it is done the sooner you will be out and about again.
Wow! Wild Turkeys sound almost as good as donkeys! We bet the next surgery and recovery will speed by and, before you know it, you'll be back to your old self Misty!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you got to go for a nice longer walk sweet Misty! I know you'll be glad when this ordeal is over for you, hugs sweetie.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a nice walk, and I'll be happy when you get your new surgery and start healing for good. It's been a long haul, but it will be over soon.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve that walk because you've been very good, and when all this is a memory, maybe you will get the chance to chase those turkeys!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you did not get to see your donkeys. Turkeys are a dime a dozen. We have them in our yard. We wish you the best of luck.
ReplyDeleteGotta love the turkeys! I hope that you get to see your donkey pals before the next surgery. I love seeing you here, Misty. I think that I'll treasure that for a very long time.
ReplyDeletemaybe donkeys turn into turkeys in summer? can it be? we cross all paws for friday, that's for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to get to meet some turkeys, Misty. There are some at Ms. C's, where the horses are, but they are not very big.
ReplyDeleteAll of us are crossing each an every paw that all goes smoothly with your surgery and you will be able to run around again in no time.
Woofs,
Ollie
Cone or No-Cone, Misty we loves you!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Misty...what a wonderful day when you get extra steps. Oh sweet Woofriend those turkeys have very tasty looking drumsticks..
ReplyDeleteI predict this will be a shorter time sporting the headgear, you sailed thru the worst one. Purrs and hugs and all kinds of wishes for the last one.

ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
I'm so glad you got to go for walkies, sending prayers and POTP for you to get thru the next 6 weeks sweet Misty!
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the surgeon; we hope you'll be all better and ready to be a pawsome, active Sibe once you get through this next phase. 💙
ReplyDeleteNot the cone again!!! Hopefully this'll be the LAST time in a long time you have to wear it.
ReplyDeleteWe are very glad that you got to have an adventure before the surgery, but after you heal, it will be so good to take LONG walks!
