Happy Surprising Tuesday

It's a great day to be happy.  Mom let me take a longer walk today, and I was so excited.  And why was that?  She said we could go visit our donkey pals who live around the corner from our development.  I haven't been that far in a very long time.  So I was so ready to go.

But wait!!! Now this is a big surprise!!!

Are my eyes deceiving me???
Those sure don't look like donkeys to me!!!

Oh my goodness - LOOK!!!  It's a rafter of wild turkeys!!!  I love turkey!!!  But those guys are HUGE - they are way bigger than me.  I decided it was probably a good thing there was a fence between them and me.

Well, I didn't get to see my donkey pals, but Mom said maybe they will be out later today when we go for a walk.  I sure hope so because it won't be long before I look like this again and won't be able to walk very far:(

If all goes as expected when I see the surgeon on Thursday, I will be having my other knee operated on Friday.  I am NOT looking forward to THAT, but Mom keeps saying it won't be long (6-8 weeks) before I can be a REAL Sibe again.

Woos - Misty

  2. Misty, hang on in there are you'll be able to walk miles and miles in search of donkeys.
    Toodle pip!

PS This post prompted some bitter sweet memories of Human Grandad. Late in his life when he found most things difficult and confusing, he always enjoyed a walk to see the donkeys in a field near his home and smiled when they came to the fence.

Misty, it is a joy to see you out and about - and I know that the sooner than later aspect of your next op is going to lead to more and more such outings! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. It sounds like you had a great walk even if you didn't get to see your donkey friends. We know it won't be fun to get your other surgery but you will be a new girl after it is done and you are all recovered.

  5. We will be keeping fingers and paws crossed and sending you tons of AireZen and POTP, Misty. Maybe it's a good thing that you'll be recovering in the ac of your home and by the time you're ready to head outside for decent walkies again, the weather will be much cooler.

  6. That was a nice walk, but a pity you couldn't see the donkeys. They were probably in the shade somewhere.
I hope you can get your other leg done on Friday. The sooner it is done the sooner you will be out and about again.

  11. I am sorry you did not get to see your donkeys. Turkeys are a dime a dozen. We have them in our yard. We wish you the best of luck.

  14. What fun to get to meet some turkeys, Misty. There are some at Ms. C's, where the horses are, but they are not very big.

All of us are crossing each an every paw that all goes smoothly with your surgery and you will be able to run around again in no time.

    Woofs,
    Ollie
