Wordy Wednesday - Woe is Me

Not a very flattering or interesting photo of me today . . .

But Mom didn't want to disturb me.  I had a little bit of drainage yesterday morning, and then I had a cold laser treatment .  The draining seemed to increase. So I saw one of the vets today for a recheck.  Dr. P. said the incision looks OK, but just to be on the safe side, she put me on an antibiotic.  I got an antibiotic injection at the time of my surgery that lasts for 14 days, but Dr. P. just wants to be sure nothing goes wrong.  We were sad to learn today that Mom's favorite vet Dr. B. has left the practice.  He was fabulous.  We know where he is now practicing, but Mom needs time to think about whether to make a change or not.  He is now at a much smaller clinic that may not have all the newest services we have access to now.  Hard decision.

I am going to be just fine, no need to worry.  I just need to keep being a good girl and stay quiet.

Woos, Misty

  1. Misty, is that what the humans in the old days used to call "showing a bit of leg"? We hope the draining issue is resolved quickly. #1 had serious drainage after her knee surgery! Anyway, we are all sending you lots of good vibes!

Hard decision about the vet... But, given some of the things that happened with you at this practice, maybe Dr. B had good reason for leaving...

    Woofs,
    Ollie (and hugs from #1)

  7. It's just going to take some time sweet Misty, but you're doing good sweetie. Oh, that's a toughie about your favorite Vet moving somewhere else. I had one when I first came, she was super, then she up and left town. We weren't lucky with who we were left with so we departed, but you should give these folks a chance, especially with the technology edge.

It is frustrating when a favourite vet leaves.

...one thing I have learned about the 'Dr B's of the world is that there is always another one around the corner... and I think you are getting top care, Misty, so maybe it is time to let the wheels turn on that one. Good girl for lying still! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  15. that was a good idea to help you out with a shot before an infection can happen, we wish you lots of potp during da healing time. the mama had the same thought too, to stick with the vet we like, or to stay at the big vet clinic with 87 ignorants... we picked option #2, because they have all medical equipments and they are there day&night... sometimes the ratio wins over our heart LOL

  22. That is a hard decision, but I'm sure your Mom will do what is best for the Woos. Heal up well sweet Misty, we're sending our purrs and prayers and POTP your way.

  23. Sending tons of POTP for you Misty and we're hoping things heal up soon. Our Mama gets so frustrated because our town is so small and we can't seem to hold on to Vets as they come here for experience and then move to bigger cities....We know your Mama we'll figure out what is best for you all!

  24. That would be a hard decision, we are lucky that our wonderful vet has her own clinic but she does have to send us to see other vets for major stuff that she doesn't have the equipment to do. Or for specialty stuff.

  27. Oh, Having the same dilemma here! Our favorite vet and owner of the practice is semi-retired - 1 day a week only! We hate all the others. They lack his intuition and species skills (people, canine and feline). We picked out a new vet but they never have time for a new customer and our old one is open 7 days a week!
