Sunday Ussie

With a little help from the flashy beast operator, a.k.a. Mom, we think we captured a pretty good ussie.

What do you think?  A smile from each of us!!!

A little followup on the birthday weekend for Dad.  It didn't all go quite as planned, but it was still a lot of fun.  The day before grandson J. was to arrive, our human brother-in-law here in the area tested positive for the dreaded virus.  That pretty much knocked out our human sister, BIL, and the two boy grands T and B since we have to be very careful with our Dad's kidney issues.  And actually the next day the three of them also tested positive.  They were pretty sick but are better now.  That was the second disappointment since we already knew that J had to come alone from Texas without his Mom and Dad since his Mom, our SIL, had rotator cuff surgery on Wednesday and our human brother had to stay in Texas to take care of her.  Then the horrific heat put the kibosh on the big Friday night Royals baseball game.  It was still over 100 degrees at 6:00 p.m. so the rest of them decided a game night at home with pizza sounded a lot better.  The escape room was a big hit with the four grands that were not sick and able to go.  Then we had a fantastic dinner at J. Gilbert's Steakhouse Saturday night.  And Mom made a delicious chicken marsala for Sunday dinner.  Then everything went haywire again.  J was on a flight home to Texas that was to leave at 9:00 p.m Sunday night.  During dinner, one text after another kept coming in, each delaying his flight a little later.  After a lot of discussion as to what might happen if the flight ended up cancelled, J's Dad rescheduled him for a Monday morning flight.  Mom got J to the airport with time to spare, and this flight took off on time.  Then about a half hour after his flight left, Mom got a text from J's Dad that J's flight was diverted to Tulsa because of the shooting at Love Field in Dallas where he was supposed to land.  Luckily J is now 18 and a pretty seasoned traveler.  He handled it all well.  His Dad booked a backup flight into DFW in case his original flight got delayed for hours and hours.  But in the end he took off again for Love Field about three hours later.  To say the least it was an adventurous return home for J.

Mom says she is more than ready for 2022 to be over.  Without a ton of detail, we have had way too many family crises.  It seems like each week brings a new problem.  Since January, there have been at least five major family medical situations.  It is hard to remain positive throughout it all , but we do our best to keep the peeps smiling.  Sadly today brought more sadness to the family.  The smiles in our ussie have slowly turned to tears.   We will wait to share it with you this week as the hurt is still too raw.  We lost one of our canine cousins:(

Life goes on, or so they say.  We do want to wish you all a Happy Sunday and hope you find many reasons to smile.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

Note from Mom:  I am not sure what is happening or how to fix it, but it appears that many of our blog feeds in Feedly are not appearing.  That is our main source of keeping up with your new posts.  We started to notice that several of our friends were not posting, but when we went directly to their blog, they actually ARE posting and we are just not getting notified.  There are several, including Zoolatry, Four Paws, Madsnapper, Molly the Airedale, Aunty Yam, and many more.  We feel so badly that we don't even know when we are missing posts.  Is anyone else having this problem and do you know how to fix it?  Thanks.

Time for the Sunday Selfie Blog Hop sponsored by The Cat on My Head.

  1. Aw, you're all so cute. Yes you are.

I had to give up Feedly for the same reason. I'm using https://www.inoreader.com/ and it's fabulous. Love it.

Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to the precious pups. ♥

  2. Yikes...lots going on at your place. We hope things get better. Mom loved J. Gilberts when she was last up there.
Did you know that the Cat Blogosphere page posts live links now? It's actually even easier than a reader.

  3. Yes, it has been going on for about 3 days, I sent feed back to to blogger for my two blogs that they are posting but not going to feedly, not sure if that will help. what I am doing is going to reader list on the dashbaoard, I found over 3 days I missed about 20 that posted. Now each day I check feedly and when done look at readers list.
I am so sorry all this has been going on with your family, those smiles are beautiful and I know hearts are breaking. J is a brave and very savy person, at 18 I would have FREAKED out, of course had never been on a plane anyway

  4. Java Bean: "It's so nice to see all your smiling faces! We're sorry everything went so sideways afterwards!"
Lulu: "And we are very sorry to hear about your canine cousin. It's always sad when someone has to leave for the Rainbow Bridge."
Charlee: "We sure hope 2022 lets up for what's left of it. Who do we have to yell 'Uncle' to for this to all be over, anyway???"

  5. I am sorry so many things went wrong for the birthday weekend, but glad you were all able to make the most of it. I am sorry that a canine cousin has made their journey to the Bridge.
I use Feedly too and a couple of weeks ago I got a list of notifications from Erin, the Cat Princess. I had also assumed they hadn't been posting lately. The notifications are coming through again now, but there are possibly other blogs it has happened too.
That is a lovely smiley Ussie!

  6. Well, the Ussie is wonderful but dang, dang and more dang, y'all need a break. I sure hope things settle down for you. About Feedly, I don't follow Auntie Yam but the others I do and they do show up in my Feedly feed, they did today anyways, so that is strange. I've seen others mention this problem too. Hugs to you all.

  7. We're so sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having but it sounds like you made the most of your visit with J. Our paws are crossed for all your family that things go better soon. You all must surely bring smiles to your pawrents faces just by seeing your sweet ussie.

From mom Cindy: We too are having problems with some of our feeds in Feedly and it seems to only be blogs hosted on Blogspot, but not all Blogspot blogs since yours came up just fine for us. I sent a message, but the support says it only responds Mon. - Fri.! As a temporary fix I just opened a new browser and have a separate tab for each of the blogs that aren't coming through. If you have their page opened to the most recent post, then if you hit the refresh icon you can look at the bottom of the page where it will show if there is a new post. Then I click on the New Post link to see the latest post. I hope they are figuring out what the problem is, but I will contact them again tomorrow.

  8. I am very sorry to hear about the many stressful and sad events in your lives this past year. At least you enjoyed a pizza party, amid the chaos! I hope everyone's health is on the mend.

Aw those smiles are just pawfeckshun... and healing for your frantic mum! Life really does throw curve balls like one of those tennis ball machines at times. Will keep you all on my POTP roundup.

As for the tech - I am pretty sure Google announced that they are phasing out Feedburner connection and everyone should use the dashboard reader. Not a problem for me as I have always used that source for catching up with everyone... though it is not perfect and occasionally blogs don't register there - or not until an hour, or a day, later. They have been tinkering under the hood for a couple of months now and this is all part of the thing that is mucking around with comments going to spam unneccessarily, too... sigh... there are no satisfactory responses coming from the support forum and we are just having to adapt and accept. And go searching for the missing! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  13. That is a lovely Ussie, but oh dear what a chaotic birthday weekend. I do hope the Covid sufferers are on the way to recovery. Losing a canine cousin on top of all the other family issues must be so hard.
Sending hugs and best wishes to all,
    Gail and Nobby.

  16. Lady says the thing we have all gotten good at the last two years is pivoting our plans around the virus. One of Lady's friend's husband's missed the birth of their second last week as he tested positive the day before. While the friend ended up with it too, they still let her be there lol! In spite of the virus all are doing very well and not very sick thankfully. Hope your family recovers soon. Lee and Phod
