Awww - so we are here to share some sad news that we alluded to yesterday. We are feeling very sad for our human sister and her whole family. They had to say farewell to one of the sweetest pups ever - Ruby Blue.
We thought we would honor her today with a few photos from the past all the way back to her first days with the family.

The perfect family pup enjoying the good life.
Resting after some zoomies with Misty - they were born about two weeks apart and had a lot of fun together as puppies.
Our special sweetheart - gone so suddenly and so young - she would have been SIX this week.
Godspeed, dear Ruby - we love you so much.
Ruby Blue became ill last Thursday; she didn't want to eat and had no energy. Friday was much the same, but now her stool was mostly orange in color. A trip to vet revealed issues with her blood. Very low platelet count and her red blood cells were not regenerating. She was to see a specialist today for an ultrasound and further testing. On Saturday she seemed a bit better, taking small tastes of chicken but still very unsteady on her feet. But early Sunday morning, she had a seizure. She was not able to stand on her own, and the beautiful fluffy tail had stopped wagging. Her Mom and Dad rushed her to the ER, but it was too late. Additional bloodwork revealed that her red blood cells were sticking together and clotting, her heart rate was very high, her breathing was labored, and she was in critical condition. The diagnosis was IMHA - immune mediated hemolytic anemia - dejà vu for us as that is what took our Angel Thunder so suddenly too. The IMHA may have been the primary cause, but the specialist thought it was secondary to something else, like cancer or a tick-borne disease. Who would have guessed - she was always very healthy and there were no signs of illness until last Thursday. After discussing their options with some pretty low odds of recovery, the best decision for Ruby was to let her go. Throughout the whole ordeal, Ruby never complained. Mom went to see her on Saturday and Ruby just kept thumping her tail while Mom rubbed her tummy. She was a treasure and she will be missed so much.
Hug a loved one today and tell them you love them, furry or human. You just never know what the day will bring.
