So we told you yesterday about the problem with the "fried" cooktop and how we offered to share our food with the peeps. They didn't seem too excited about our suggestion. Well, last night we decided to try to find something else for Mom and Dad to eat.
And now we are wondering why the Momster said, "NO, NO, NO - leave it, inside right now!!!
She spotted us from inside pawing and nose-bopping something on the grass. Do you see it here???
It sure could move fast when it wanted to.
Ever-cautious Timber kept his distance.
He tried to tell Misty to be careful and not get too close. He was sure Mom was on the way to catch him and do the work for him.
Oh Timber, now it is gone and I can't find it.
Sheesh, here we thought it would make a tasty item to roast to a crispy delight on the new grill!!! Wonder what we can find next for the peeps to eat.
Woos - Misty and Timber the mighty hunters.
Well, maybe Mom wasn't too thankful about our find, but we are thankful you are here to enjoy our tale. Let's hop on board Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Oh boy on the new grill, we have a new grill but its 2 years old and bob hasn't used it but 3 times since i bought it and i am terrified of the propane so will not use it. the snake doesn't bother me, he is a beauty, we love our snakes, they eat rodents and other small critters. i saw one similar to this one but it was a glass snake, this is what we call a garden snake, we have both and black racers.. tell mom if the head is rounded and not triangular you don't have to fret over it. the best way to tell is LOOK at their EYES. round pupals are safe, slits like a cat or poison. be sure to get a pic of mom checking eye balls
ReplyDeleteOMC we agree with your Mom....NOOOOOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteI think I will pass on grilled snake too☺
ReplyDeleteIck! Sorry, I know you tried, but ick.
ReplyDeleteWe find garter snakes in our yard too and our parents don't like us to mess with them. At least ours aren't venomous.
ReplyDeleteDang, at least you two tried your best. Maybe you can hunt up some dessert next time! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteShe can't say you didn't try! MOL
ReplyDeleteOMWoooooos Misty no thank you I don't eat long slither slimey things.
ReplyDeleteTimber BOL BOL I'm with you not too close
Glad to see Mom and Dad have Weber grill. It might be very handy
Hugs Cecilia
Tastes like chicken, eh?
ReplyDeleteWe've had one around The Khottage - haven't seen it for some time - but we have seen evidence of others in the neighborhood - when they live their sheds in the streets -
H&K&W.

What a beautiful little snake! It looks like what we call a ribbon snake, quite harmless unless you are vermin. It's great to have them around, keeps mice/rats/etc out of the house and garden.
ReplyDeleteYou caught a dangerous intruder
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern and attempt at helping, but I'm with your mom!
ReplyDeleteHari Om
ReplyDeleteAw, the snake had a lucky escape! Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
I’m sure your Mom, though appreciative of you hunting for food for her, was very thankful it escaped! Snakes are one creature I fear!
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, it looks small and harmless, but apparently it's prudent to be wary of slithery things! A few weeks ago Lulu and I were barking at one in the yard and it started rattling really loudly and you should've heard Mama shrieking for us to come inside. I think she thought it might have been about to explode!"
ReplyDeleteI'm TOTALLY with you!!! Snakes are the one thing I'm still really afraid of, poisonous or not ..... A few years ago, my husband went out into the barn and a black snake fell on top of him when he opened the door. So, I never go into the barn, and I'm okay with that!
ReplyDeleteSweeeeeet ! You got away.
ReplyDeleteWe hope you get a new cooker soon. We think the snake adventure sounds like fun. We see dead ones around but not many live ones. Lee and Phod
ReplyDeleteWe are sure that deep down, your Mom really appreciates your hunting down some food for her.
ReplyDeleteHow did I not comment on this post? I thought I did. Anyway, it's a beautiful little "ribbon snake" as I call them, not venomous, just take it to a ditch or wild area and let it eat rats and mice and keep those pests away from your house.
ReplyDeleteWow! That snake was wild---our mom is scared of snakes and we have seen so many this spring! But how fun to have found one, even though your mom was not happy about that!
