Nature Friday for Timber and His New Friend

While I, Timber, was on patrol watching for Miss Fluffy to make her appearance, I spotted something interesting on the deck.

Hmmm, what could THAT be???

Let me get a little closer.  What is it, Mom???

It looks like a butterfly to me, Timber - maybe a Meadow Brown or a Brown Meadow???

If you say so, Mom.  Whatever it is, it looks like it wants to be friends (unlike that scratchy, crunchy cicada I found last night).  It is smiling at me, so I am going to give it a great big smile too.

Woos - Timber

Butterflies are part of nature, right?  Let's join the Nature Friday Blog Hop sponsored by the Adventures of the LLB Gang.

  3. What a beautiful moth you found, Timber. According to the Google machine it's a North American giant silk moth.

  9. That is not a butterfly. It's a moth! It's called a Polyphemus Moth. It is simply stunning! We are envious.

  13. They are beautiful parts of nature if you ask me. This looks like one of the kind which uses camouflage tries to make predators think it's a big, scary creature to be left alone.
